When playing online, whose voice will be heard, the actual singer on the track, or the person singing into the microphone? Will there be an option to switch between the two? Additionally, will band members be able to talk among themselves while playing songs or between songs? I don't know how the PS3 handles voice communication, but for me, one of my favorite parts about Xbox Live games is being able to chat and socialize amongst my teammates during rounds and in between rounds. It would also be great in other senses too, like the drummer shouting out ONE TWO, ONE TWO THREE FOUR right before a song starts, etc.

That information hasn't been released yet. Sorry.

I'm not sure about the second part of your question. I'll try to get an answer later if no one has answered it before I find out.

I hope there's an option for the vocalist to hear the original voice track while performing. When I sing on my own, I like to have the song going at the same time.
If RB had IEMs that would be just beyond amazing.

I have a question that sort of relates to this topic, so I'll ask here:

Will you guys be supporting Playstation Home and the trophy system?

I seriously hope that the singer's voice can be heard instead of the original recording. Otherwise there is no reason to have a singer at all in an online game.
I assume they would make it similar to Singstar. The original singingg track can be heard and the players voice levels can be adjusted to suit what you want. They could even go further and make it possible to adjust the original vocals if possible.
the vocals could be like the guitar. As long as you're in key, the actual singer will sing well
