Are you talking about BWT or waht?
Cause there is no online BWT, just online quickplay.
You need to get buddies that are on at the sametime and just play quickplay.

i may be wrong here, but i believe all those bands youre talking about are 4 people actually getting together at somebody's house and playing. Then they are linked to the website and their scores are posted.

similar to doing the solo tour.

but i may be wrong, as i havent done the band thing.

As far as I know, the only way to play in a band with remote players is to go to Band Quickplay -> Online Multiplayer. There is no Online Multiplayer option for Band World Tour. Bands created through Band Quickplay do not get their scores counted on the leaderboards (like Band World Tour bands do), nor do the individual scores of participating players count towards their solo leaderboard rankings.

The online BWT was cut from the game. I heard it wasn't working out a well as they hoped. Maybe someone from Harmonix can clear it up?

Yes.

BTW = Offline only, you HAVE to have friends to play with in your area (Which really blows and I hope they do actually make a patch for this, if at all possible)

The solution for this is to just play band quickplay online. Everyone can play (4 players) but you don't get anything on the leaderboards and you don't progress through the game, it's just for fun.

(Or you could learn to play the guitar and sing, but in this case you're just wanting to play with friends online)

So yeah, it's possible but you won't be counted on leaderboards.

EDIT: If you really want to show off you and your friends' skills, then buy a dazzle dvd recorder and hook it up. You'll also need 3 Y-Adapters so you'll still be able to play on your TV. Then you can just upload the video to youtube for everyone to see.

Yeah, but how can you get on leaderboards then?

You will have to have friends over your house and play BWT or you will have to learn to sing + play guitar, which really isn't hard if you know the songs. I've gotten to expert guitar + hard singing. And I know there are some guys out there that do expert guitar/singing.

A while back there was a mention of a patch but it was NOT official, so no one really knows if it'll come out. All we can do is hope and really, that music store feature makes it a little easier for me to believe they can do it, they just want it to be obsolutely perfect, and for that I can wait. As I said though, it's not official and it may never come out period. Until then you'll have to do one or the other.

As long as a system is connected to the net, it sends the information over. I don't think you even need a gold account for live to send the info, just as long as it's connected to the net. Think Guitar Hero 2, how the leaderboards worked in that. I think they're watched over more carefully in RB though, so many glitches and such with GH2 made it easy for "cheaters" to get to the top.

EDIT: Also the same way the leaderboards work for solo tour.
