To satisfy us british, rock band has to have and i mean has to have a Libertines song like Up the Bracket or Cant Stand Me Now that would be amazing and also not as important but some Oasis wouldnt go a miss either c'mon we need good british bands in this game not rubbish like Muse i promise it will double british sales having The Libertines and Oasis in the game they are the 2 biggest british bands ever ohh and some Bloc Party would be nice too :):D :p

I had to sign up to this forum simply to state that, no, The Libertines and Oasis will not satisfy us British. In my opinion that both of the above mentioned bands are terrible, far from being 'the 2 best british bands ever', and not worthy of being in Rock Band.

I only hope that the OP is joking!

i agree british dont want libertines or oasis! We want metal. Rock. Punk. Stuff thats hard to play! We want stuff from roadrunner bands like killswitch engage and dream theater. Oh and one more thing the brits want. A date the game will be released in the uk. Lol

Just to agree with everyone else, no. I hate both Oasis and The Libertines and there not what we want. Three english bands we do want:

Bloc Party
Muse
Radiohead (i know Creep is in RB, but DLC, definately)

Think i speak for alot of people when i say that :P

For modern rock, definitely go with lots of british bands. Not only are they popular, but 1000x better than most of the rock of the U.S.

I'd rather Blur (NOT Song 2), Supergrass and Swervedriver for bands from the UK.

Oasis is one of the few pop bands I like, but I'd prefer Muse when it comes to modern British Rock.

Also, some British Invasion. The Who and The Stones are a good start.

Oasis and the Libertines would work really well with Rock Band.

Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I for one am not interested in the libertines. Oasis might be interesting - their songs aren't that challenging to play but I think for those intending to play online with friends, it'll be good fun.

Supergrass is a good shout. Richard III or Sun hits the sky would be good to play.

One thing for sure is I don't want this to be 'Guitar hero with drums' so I wish people would stop focusing on songs with guitar solos and/or metal. I like metal, but I like all kinds of music and want to be able to play all kinds of stuff as opposed to just one genre.

Just my thought.

Keeping the streak alive, huh?

Teenage Fanclub (Scottish FTW) would be awesome. Throw in 'Bandwagonesque' while we're at it.

I don't know much about Teenage fanclub. The only song I can ever recall hearing is Sparkys dream which I really like.

'The Concept', 'Star Sign', 'Everybody's Fool' and 'Everything Flows' are great songs that would be pretty fun for this game.

The only problem with Muse is that Harmonix would be too mean to all the vocalists by putting them in.

The falsetto... I can still hear it in my sleep...

Bloc Party > Muse IMO as well.

I just think Bloc Party really came out with a new sound. I can't say that for Muse. It just sounds like "Radiohead Lite" to me.

Edit: Just to clarify, I don't think Muse is bad. I like them, they just don't really blow me away.

well after the Radiohead announcement, the 4 remaining bands i want in more than any other are all still british bands: Floyd, Zepp, Bloc Party, and Muse, in that order. its not that i prefer british music over american, it just so happens that most all my favorite bands are british.

Everybody keeps saying that Muse is a RH wannabe but besides the vocals and a couple of songs ( I mean like 2) they don't really sound all that alike. Muse has changed their sound a lot since their first album.

it really depends on your taste. mainsteam/alternative rock i would hand it to the british, but as for more hardcore stuff(mathcore for example) i would give it to america.

but modern metal overall would go to countries like sweden, finland, netherlands, norway, etc.

the_polite_force

personally imo sweden and britian have had all the best bands in history with more and more coming. i like norway too but norway spawns too many ****ty black metal bands. but in reality the country of where they come from doesn't matter. the only time i see a country playing a major difference was with well country music, traditional/world music, and the development of melodic death

I think Canada has some awesome bands at the moment. I love Stars and Arcade Fire.

I also love Mew, and they're from Denmark.

:p

And of course a lot of german bands, like Wir Sind Helden or Kettcar.

That's probably why I like modern British music better. I hate hardcore. The music and the attitudes. Classic rock I like leans to British bands, but the U.S came out with some good stuff.

Okay well looks like i should change the name to what glasgow wants apparently the only place in britain with good taste in music i mean i think glasgow is just a head of the curve because in glasgow everybody loves indy music especially the libertines and oasis who by the way have excellent songs for guitar drum and singing parts its not just guitar any more people seem to be missing that point a mean how are u ment to sing death metal or wat ever crap people are askin for and i mean all the british people asking for muse are letting the side down muse suck and they are just a crap copy of radiohead just face it now muse fans try not to cry becuase it is all emos that like them face it we want reall gritty british alt rock man and aint no better than the libs and i forgot originally but The Artic Monkeys have got to be in it or this game sucks

devil_may_care
08-27-2007, 02:10 AM
I think Muse and Lost Prophets shold be in it.
MUSE IS NOT EMO!!!!!!! Seriously it's just normal rock (not that thats a bad thing). I'm into emo music myself so i can tell the difference... I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Prophets yet though... They're my favorite british band...

Firstly, not everyone in Glasgow likes the same music as you. Could it just be you've formed this opinion because by some strange coincidence your friends also like The Libertines and Oasis?

Secondly, music you don't like doesn't have to be crap. You just don't like it. End of. Give it a few more years and your tastes will change. You won't believe that now, but it'll happen.

Thirdly, judging by your posts and your limited choices, I'm going to take a guess and say you're very young (in comparison to me) and therefore your knowledge of British music is probably limited. There are so many more British bands that tick all the boxes of a good rock band song (and I agree with you that it doesn't have to be guitar led otherwise it's just guitar hero).

Finally, just to add another couple of suggestions. I'd choose:

This charming man - the smiths
Animal nitrate - Suede

Hey man am not that young and i would say that most of glasgow apart from old people do like oasis maybe not libertines but i really just ment indy music in general and i listen to a lot of older music and i like lots of different types of music dance indy rock pop rnb everything anything good really so for me to not like something does mean its crap and my taste in music wont change becoz i have such a broad taste in music that it would be impossible for it to change coz i already like everything except country so unless i start liking country music it wont change and yea man charming man by the smiths would be awsome or first of the gang to die by morriessey would be awsome or something by the specials or the jam would be good aswell man so am all for older music jus not crap music and yea people its not guitar hero understand that
