Please Not Just Googly Eyes Hmx

After reading that you can't do full facial customization on your created rocker and have to choose from pre-made heads I was a little bummed.. now that's not to say I don't appreciate their position. It's probably a lot of work and may cause slowdown getting in and out of online games, just cause some guy wants to look like Martha Stewart on drums.

However, I really ask that you include a whole range of styles.. because damn, the characters shown so far have some really bigassed eyes. It could just be me, I dunno... but yeah, I'd prefer not to :)

HMX, please indulge my needs instead of spending time on important stuff in the game.

I play the game by using TEH FORCE.

I'm not under the false pretension that it's a huge deal or anything.. but if I am going to be creating my own character, I'd just like some nicer.. eye candy so to speak :P

Hmm, what exactly does this mean? We can't use a camera to capture our own faces? Or we only have pre-set models for the whole face (I.E. - We can't choose our eyes, mouth, nose, etc)

Wow, I'm really surprised at that. I remember one of the creators saying how excited they were for the character creator part of the game. I think they said it was the thing they were most excited for in the game. Ahh well.

I'm going to hope that the googly-eyes creator is just because the demos are early code. I'm expecting something a little more like the sims, or at least the ability to adjust the preset faces.

When they said "you can make, for example, that guy over there" I assumed they meant it. Time will tell...

They didn't actually show it, but in the 40min GameSpot video, the interviewer asked if there would be famous musicians to play as. And I believe it was Alex, or one of the other HMX reps that said the character creation would be in-depth enough that you could make your guy resemble a famous musician at least.

Now, I don't see how you could do that if you're just changing the clothes. I would think you need to change the face. But that still doesn't rule out preset faces I suppose.

But I do agree with Brock about the googly eyes, they did seem almost Anime-ish, yuck.

It's still better than the options in GH3, where their new artistic "style" butchered many of the time-honored classics of the series (or cut them entirely).

I don't really care for it either. It's a goody, yes, but I've always been happy with picking one of the girl characters. I never look at the band when playing, anyway. (However, some people seem to be able to look up and play at the same time.)

At about 5:12 or so it shows Character Creation.

And if you look close, under where it says "Face" the option that was chosen was "Rocker".

Thus, solidifying that it's preset faces :(

That was from the E3 video, though, so we don't know if that's how it'll be in the final build or if it was just there for placeholder purposes.

I'm still happy with the customization I've seen thus far anyway. As points have been made, you won't really be looking at the character that much anyway. The clothes and overall appearance will be what you notice.

I don't have time to look at the background while playing anyway.. but if they keep the whole entire song in the game, and not butcher the master track, like cutting stuff short, I could check out my rocker during Baba O' Riley!

You gotta have somethin' good to look at while you're waiting for those various solos in which you're not doing ****. It's just one of those small things that can still hurt a game as good as Rock Band amongst the casual players and the like.

No, the one i created. They had so few options that it wasn't rare to find yourself all the time.

Dude american wasteland and P8 had the absolute worst char creation. I don't understand how they went backwards there.
