On a couple of these videos, the loudness of the drum kit caught my attention. It bothers me now. I guess it depends on how hard you hit it, but the guy doesn't look like he's hitting them that hard, and they just seem really loud when you hit them.
I guess it will be like the clickiness from the SG and Xplorer. Gotta get used to the annoyingness.
EDIT: It's the second vid from the bottom.

Errr...yeah. That's awful.
Sorry guys but it seems like if a thread isn't praising Harmonix today it's just being really picky. Like pre-made facial models and drum kits making noise. Too each I say duhpalooza!
Hey that's catchy. I need to plaster that on a dumb picture and post it all over the place.

Hey, it's not a big deal to me. Like Brock said, I'm gonna turn my sound up. I'm just happy for info.
So chill. I apologize for bringing it up.

Would you prefer there to be giant problems in the game design for us to complain about instead, oh creator of hilarious memes you? ;)

No I'd rather we all not post the obvious and put that effort into trying to dig more into todays pile of news/vids/previews. :D

ah-hah, so you admit that the current character head designs are "obviously" less than stellar!
(probably not, but I got nothing more from todays previews to dig into so thought I'd just twist your words)

Heh, somebody is really bored :p
The obvious is they'll be pre-made. But in play I have no problem with em'.

They are somewhat loud, but how many things can you hit with a piece of wood and expect it to be next to silent? Not even a pillow can accomplish such a feat.
Suggestions : Buy wireless headphones. I has some, and they is good.
Order some foam stick tips out of a percussion catalog for cheap.

i refrained from quoting him (i was gonna quote and add a letter to it) because i thought it would be so childish, but at first glance i swear one of sushi's posts said something like "i was waiting to see your rection."
im sure you can figure out what i thought i read and what letter i was going to add.

When I am playing by myself I am definitely going to use my noise canceling headphones. Since the pads seem a bit small I assume I am going to be clacking on the outside rings quite a bit at first.

being a drummer myself,Sticks and force you put into hitting them really affect how loud it is(apparently) So,lets say you used something like a Pro Mark 5A type of stick with a wider and longer tip,it will be louder then say... a Vic Verth B2 that has a tiny rounded tip. And even electronic kits are noisy as crap.Especially if you get the ones that are just rubber pads. Those are alot noisier than mesh pads.Me likes the mesh pads =]

Thats easily fixed.
Remove the clickers from the strum buttons in the guitar they are redundant anyway and stick some little pieces of the furry side of Velcro to the inside of the body where the strum bar hits it (this has the added effect of tightening up the strum bar action).
I did both of these things and now my guitar is practically silent.
And if you wanna get really picky ;) stick some little squares of 1mm thick cardboard to the back of the fret buttons and you don't need to press them as far this makes fast passages so much easier as you really only need to brush the buttons with a bit of pressure instead of a full press action
Just my opinion tho as lots of people are purists and believe you should play with what you are given without making modifications.

Emo_Reaper is right your always going to get some sound from the sticks other than the drum sound especially on electronic kits using rubber pads but as long you have decent volume you wont hear it.

Dude, Highway Star......... Good GOD I can't wait to play that song! (last video on the page)
I really want to see a video of Gimme Shelter! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yea- about the noisy drums. Even though people have already mentioned it; I think it's just something we'll all get used to like to clickity-clack of the guitars. I'll just be destroying to hell out of my sound system and pissing off the neighbors :D
