I like a lot of the suggestions mentioned so far, so instead of just reiterating those, I thought I'd post some suggestions from some less popular bands. Here goes:
Art Brut - Direct Hit
Fugazi - Waiting Room
8Stops7 - Satisfied (anyone remember these guys?)
Dungen - Panda
Dust For Life - Seed
Concrete Blonde - God Is A Bullet
Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot
Kings of Leon - Four Kicks
And for my way-out there choices:
Mastodon - Crystal Skull
Marnie Stern - Every Single Line Means Something
Sugarcubes - Mama
And, what the hell, a few well known bands:
REM - Radio Free Europe
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Mary Jane's Last Dance

Since the awesomicity of my suggestions has left everyone in stunned silence, I decided what the hey, add some more songs (again, click for video):
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Weapon of Choice
Henry Rollins Band - Liar
Ween - Transdermal Celebration
Pavement - Stereo
The Refreshments - Banditos Anyone remember this? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Noisettes - Don't Give Up Chick band!
UNKLE - Nursery Rhyme (Breather) DJ Shadow & James Lavelle. I'm not sure who's singing.
Pretty Girls Make Graves - Speakers Push The Air Chick band!
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Bomb. Repeat. Bomb.
The Futureheads - First Day The only vid I could find...
Roscoe - Midlake
Test Icicles - Circle Square Triangle
The Fever - Gray Ghost
MC5 - Kick Out The Jams Perhaps the most covered song ever...?
Autolux - Turnstile Blues Chick drummer! A phat beat it is, too.
Kula Shaker - Hey Dude
A few more "never in a million years":
King Missile - Detachable Penis
Moby - Southside Yeah, this song is a little suspect. I really dig the guitar solo, though.
Outkast - B.O.B.
And well knowns:
Elvis Costello - (I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea The guitarist would have the least to do, but the vocals, bass and drums are awesome
The Flaming Lips - She Don't Use Jelly
Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored
Devo - Satisfaction
Rage Against the Machine - No Shelter The only good thing to come from the Godzilla movie remake

Don't know any of these except for Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, and R.E.M, and RATM.

Unlike most setlist threads that promise something different, this one actually delivers. There's some really great choices there, too.

Wow, thanks a lot.
I mean, I want a lot of the same big bands that everyone else wants on the game, too. But there's so much other cool stuff out there, too. I hope Harmonix doesn't forget.

Melvins - Revolve. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7TD4HTOF4Y)
Gang of Four - Damaged Goods (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZwQ_WJWX68)
Bad Brains - Sailin' On (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_9tw1jFkTA)
Wire - 12XU (http://www.seeqpod.com/music/?plid=5cbb7264e6)
Meat Puppets - Lake of Fire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B51VVOWtRxc&mode=related&search=)
Television - Marquee Moon (http://www.seeqpod.com/music/?plid=20ad857fe6)
Be Your Own Pet - Bicycle Bicycle, You Are My Bicycle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpPgD-6km6c)
The Long Blondes - Giddy Stratospheres (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lFsSvLKnHE)
Buzzcocks - Orgasm Addict (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9do-xN52Gxo)
Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M-UtlpvBWk) Not an overlooked band, but an overlooked song.
And one that has pretty much no chance in hell, but I'd love to see anyway:
Melt-Banana - Sheild For Your Eyes, a Beast in the Well on Your Hand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q7tlxLUqZI)

Can't argue with a single one. All these choices are excellent. Marquee Moon! That was actually one of the songs I suggested to Harmonix.

Nice stuff.
I'll put this in for a more likely Buzzcocks song, though.

Pretty good suggestions (edit: I'd heard of some of the band names but never given their stuff a listen -- I didn't care for all of them as things to put on my MP3 player, but they pretty much all seemed like they'd be good and fairly fun for Rock Band), although I'd still favour Free Fallin' over Mary Jane's Last Dance. I would be quite happy with *any* Tom Petty at this point tho. :p

And because I forgot the title, it's "What Do I Get?", obviously.

B.O.B. would be pretty much the most energetic song you could play on this. That would be insane, especially on drums, holy crap. That would be so sick. King missile would be fun, but its basically only 3 chords the whole time. But i wonder for BOB if the microphone would pick up rapping well enough to judge it or w/e?

Marnie Stern, FTW! I'd like to see Hella, too. I'm kind of enjoying these indie guitar+drum groups lately.
I have to question their suitability though, regarding the presence or absence of a bass player.
Melt-Banana will never be in Rock Band.
