now. i know that this is pretty...well.....low chance of happining, but maybe for say rock band 3 or something. well, i think they should have an option to use the plastic guitar controllers, ok mic not needing to have PERFECT pitch, plastic bass, and fake electronic drumset ORRR use a REAL guitar, with the singer have to sound just right, with a REAL bass, and a REAL electronic drumset(already done in drummania). Wouldnt that be awesome? u guys are probally thinking its truely impossible right now, but really for some extra money, its fully possible.
Now, electronic drumsets are possible to be played on drummania already. and(if they put keyboard in it)keyboard is already be able to played on keyboardmania. now guitar IS possible. to detect notes, they would have to have that special midi pickup thing. it WOULD work actually. then, same for bass.

wouldnt that be awesome?? i do. its a good way to practice for a band i think(u get rated and stuff). for example, u could make songs and record them on the game. u dont have to make the notes, cuz the game memorizes wut u play. and a good way to practice for gigs, its realistic, lol.

nah. i got problems with that

1. that adds alot of extra and unnecessary work for the dev team which could be used on a larger setlist or enhanced graphics.

2. if you know how to play the guitar, and are actually planning to be in a band, than playing GH seems rather redundant, unless your band is gonna play nothing but covers.

3. programs like Acid and Soundforge are much better suited for music creation.

I agree it would be awesome if you could use your own drum set, like in drum mania. But using real guitars or bass would be pointless... theres only 5 notes in the GH game (and probably the same for RB) so why have like 100+ available fret things on guitar, it just doesnt work.

Also there is already a thread about using real instruments. Go to http://www.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=324 for 3 pages of discussion.
