I hope the gods of Rockband can hear me now, as I've gotten really nervous since I heard about the European version being different from the US version. I understand the thought process, it makes total sense, but what about those of us Stateside who realize our music is crap and love UK rock (especially Muse)?
My hope and prayer to you with this development is that at the very least, the "Euro-centric" tunes will be available to the US for download- I get the marketting angle, but please don't pull an iTunes on us and punish us for being on the wrong side of the pond! There are already so many reasons for us to be ashamed of our nationality, this just can't be another!
Does anyone else agree with me on this issue??

Sean already said that all those country specific songs we'll get are not replacing any of the original songs of the american version, but they are bonus tracks.
I don't know how different the DLC is, but I don't think that they will release songs in the US and not here. At least I hope so. Don't know about the other way round though. Maybe they'll release german songs on the german marketplace and of course they probably won't be released in the US since noone speaks the language.
Well... I just hope I don't have to abandon any songs. Oh, if you plan on releasing Mew on the danish marketplace - please release it everywhere. :D

maybe im missing something, but i dont understand why they would want to restrict downloadable tracks to certain regions. i mean the more users you make it available to, the higher percentage of sales, the more money you make right?
this followed my logic on what rock band would be useful for, spreading music and reaching out to new fans. id expect that theres tons of great music in europe that i havent heard, and wouldnt have the chance to hear. but if i feel the need to play some new material on rock band, i may buy some songs i never heard just to play something new, and get hooked on "new music" that could have been a number one hit 10 years ago overseas for all i know.

Yeah, but you probably can't release a song that is sung in german in the US, because they can't really sing it, can they?

i suppose it would be awkward, but if the words are spelled out and we have the vocal track playing along you could learn it. i've learned the words to songs in spanish and japanese before, although i have no idea what the words mean :o

Hm, maybe, but do most of the american people want to sing german songs anyway?
I mean, I would probably not want all those spanish, italic or whatever songs I actually don't even know. If they release all that foreign songs in every country, than we get german songs one week, in the next we get spanish songs and so on. And what about those english songs everyone knows? :p
Ah, well, thank god I don't have to think about that.
But I mean, if they can still release enough well known english songs alongside the foreign songs, than it would be okay for me. Don't have to download spanish songs. But it would probably still be nice to have them on the marketplace for all those people that may speak spanish but not living in Spain or any other language and country.
So, yeah, when I think about it, they should release all songs on every marketplace at them same time. That would be the best solution. Even though they game isn't even out in Europe, they should still release all songs on all marketplaces, so that people who have imported it can play them and so that we have them all already on the marketplace ready for download when the game is released in Europe.
Yes. Hehe. :D

yes. i know im one of the minority that is open to all types of music. so i know people will definitely skip past foreign tracks. im not trying to say they should release something german over english one week. im thinking if they're already doing the work to produce a track for one country, why not open it up to the rest of the world and maximize your profits. in the end it's up to us if we want to buy it or not. the only drawback is server space. ideally it would be great to have a universal server and i could go into folders for different countries.
more is better, no? :)

Nice idea. Now I really hope that every country can download every song. You're absolutly right, why not? :D
