I just checked the updates hoping for a Rolling Stones pack and saw this and my hopes were dashed, til right under my nose a suprise had unhashed. (rhyme)

So, Serj Tankian is the guy from System of a Down (never knew his name) and quite frankly, every vocalist should be ****ting their pants if they are up for a real change in game play. Not to mention, the rest of the band isn't that bad, and i've been kinda looking for something with System's sound since the game came out....not all out thrash, but not pussyfooted hard rock.

Paramore, based on the name i wouldn't download them but i checked them out, and i think they are more accessible than that ever-so-conflicted flyleaf. PLus the background instruments seem to have a fun play scheme. However, i think this will be the song that will have to grow on me before it becomes one of my regular playlist songs.

Shockwave by Black Tides......rocks metal.... and it isn't Metallica rock metal.....which is all that matters to me. Don't get me wrong about Metallica, their songs have moments.....but it takes soooooooooooooooooooooooo long to get to them.

Yeah, the vocals on the Serj song should frighten people. Haha.

And hey, the Paramore song gives me a excuse to use my rad haired vocalist. Haha.

Seriously...

People who wanted some System DLC should be pretty happy right now since, even though it's just Serj on "Elect the Dead", it still sounds very similair to SoaD.

Paramore is a pretty good band and I agree that the band will be fun to play, but their song's aren't half bad, they're pretty good. Just because it's a new pop band doesn't mean they suck.

Never really heard of Black Tides so I might give it a listen first.

This weekend I plan on buying The Perfect Drug, El Scorcho, Beethoven's C***, and crushcrushcrush. Pretty good turnout if I do say so myself

They must have some kind of promotion they want for these bands. I mean there are thousands and thousands of songs that people would have jumped for joy to see and they choose these. It makes ZERO sense, unless they are trying to promote these bands.

My wife used to sing playing RB. There are just too many songs she(and 99% of the people) have never heard before. She doesn't play anymore, its too frustrating for her. Who wants to sing songs they never heard before??

The attraction to RB is that we get to rock out to songs we love. Its just sad that we get songs we have never heard. Why?? Just tell me why, out of the list of thousands of songs, they can pick such aweful crap. Where are the rock songs everyone loves????

Nobody listens to this garbage. Worst DLC week yet.

No, personally I think this is a great week for DLC, like so many weeks we've had.

Every week there are people who say "Worst week yet" And it will continue. Sheesh. And even if this is the worst... Theres not too much of a difference between 100% good and 99.9999999999999999998% good.

I've said it before and I'll surely say it again: At least you yanks have the damn game, so all this whining over a single week's DLC content seems downright absurd to everyone else.

Anyway, just to throw in my 2 cents about "teh 3/11". The Serj Tankian song sounds like SOAD without said band's creative spark. Mundane at best. The Paramore one is a proverbial fish out of water, as they make Freezepop sound like a rock band. As for "Shockwave", it's certainly no masterpiece, but it sure sounds like the most fun song to play out of the three, and the only one I'd actually consider downloading.

So, good night, and have fun arguing over this whole thing, chewing the fat and whatnot.

Maybe you and your wife should expand your tastes a bit?

I'll be the first to admit I straight up hate the Grateful Dead, but my hatred for songs they've released pretty much begins and ends there.

I'm really glad they released the paramore song, actually ran across them on youtube by accident a while back. However, I would have preferred this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCyGvGEtOwc

I also enjoyed the Black Tide song.

The worste out of the pack I fealt was the Serj song. The production values just seem weak, as well as the singing. Everyone talks as if its going to be this unsurmountable task, but he just goes places vocally I don't want him to go. Surprisingly, as I *love* many SotD songs.

It really is sad though that people can't take 4 minutes out of their day to give something a valid try. I *definitely* would not categorize any of this weeks songs as "aweful crap".

Dude, I'm in the same boat with the OP. I think that this is an amazing Vocals week, finally! Serj, some new Metal-ish stuff and what sounds like an interesting party song makes me happy. Sure "Crushcrushcrush" isn't as challenging, but hell, Beethoven's is gonna kick everyone's ass for a while.

Anyway, +1 for the obscure. First full week for me since the Metallica pack the first week.
