Rock Blog Thurfriday PAX/Weekend edition

Our booth is almost finished as of this morning we have a little bit of work to do when we get back in an hour or so. I want to tell you a crazy ass experience that happened yesterday.

So it is a big exhibition hall at PAX. Really big. And there were something like 400 people on the floor from PAX enforcers to exhibitors to contractors and union guys setting up all the booths. When our booth finally was setup enough so that we had speakers and all the televisions working our A/V guy asked if we could do a sound test to make sure all the stuff worked and the audio was balanced. John and I jump up on the stage (WE HAVE A STAGE!), I strap on a guitar, John is on drums and we launch into the recently announced Blitzkrieg Bop. We are about halfway through the song, which really isn't much time at all since it is a Ramones track, and there are suddenly about 150 people in our booth- something I didn't notice until that very second because I was focusing on my screen and the sound quality. The booth is actually so packed that people are in the aisles around our booth. There were no people in our booth when we started. Then a little over a minute later we have a cheering crowd that encompasses, like, half of the people on the floor at PAX.

The expo hasn't even started yet... this is going to be insane. I'll keep you in the know as it progresses.

wow!! That's amazing!! I have no doubt that RB will be one of the highlights if not THE highlight of PAX. Looking forward for more news...wish I could be there. :-(

I think this game will always have that, what the hell is going on over there factor. Awsome to see the reaction like that before you even officially get under way. Good luck out there and make sure to prepare for your blockbuster announcments. :D

Wow sounds awesome, It is like the ultimate Rock Band experience, getting to play on stage! I really wish I lived closer to Seattle.
I'm going to be keeping an eye on DanT's pictures, the few that are up so far look cool, can't wait to see more from the whole weekend.

Holy CRAP that's awesome. I can't wait until this thing's released! I wish PAX was on the East Coast so I could drum it up, but at least all those West Coast gamers are going to be super-pleased getting to try Rock Band out.

It was great to play and meet some of the team yesterday! They have 3 full setups for people to play as well as one more setup just for drum battles with 2 drumsets. I'll wait to make a post about full impressions until after I get some solid play time in today. All I played are the drums so far. They're really sturdy and made really well. At one point there was a guy just doing horrible; hitting the rims more than he was the pad and extrememly hard a that. One of the sticks broke but the pads were still standing! haha Even worse was that he was media. If we see a review from them somewhere and it gets posted here; I'll let you know which one ;)
