How Can I Play Bass in Solo Mode?

I just bought Rock Band a couple days ago, and I feel pretty comfortable playing lead guitar in solo mode, so I wanted to try bass. However, I can't the option to change guitars to bass. I've created a new character, even purchased a bass guitar for him, but after it saves, it still shows my charcter playing a lead guitar. I'm losing my mind! Can anyone help? Thanks!

Can't be done at this time.
It's probably the single biggest complaint about Rock Band and definitely something that almost everyone would like to see changed.

Wow, are you kidding me? That's ridiculous. So if I am playing alone, the only way I can play the bass is by going to practice mode? I hope they fix that sometime. Why do they even give you the options of purchasing bass guitars in solo mode then? Weird...

no, you can go to quickplay and pick the songs, you just cant do the solo tour.

Oh, okay! Thanks for the help! I haven't touched quickplay mode only because I like "progressing" through the game in solo mode. But if there is no way to play bass in solo mode, I won't worry about it any more. I just thought I was losing my mind! Thanks for the help!

no, you can go to quickplay and pick the songs, you just cant do the solo tour.

Yeah, I forgot about Quick Play.
I never use Quick Play because I can't use my own character.
