looking at that other guitar thats RB/GH compatible, i think it looks like ass. so i don't think i'll be buying that one, what i would really like is a 2nd Strat, exact same as the one for RB, with 10 buttons. (that works with GH)
i'm guessing that the RB/GH 3rd party guitars don't solo like the Strat, strumless.

I work at EB Games and I know we have a release date for the guitars themselves but I dont remember the exact date, late next month I've been told. The drums are already released for $80 and I'm pretty sure its going to be the same price for the guitar aswell.

The current Strat does not work with Guitar Hero, and given Red Octane's stance against 3rd party controllers, I doubt the Strat from Harmonix will ever work with Guitar Hero.

i remember seeing some date about april 1st for standalone guitars. but being april 1st, you can never trust any news for that date.
i know teh Strat doesnt and will never, work for the GH series... but i was hoping that a 3rd party would make one like the Strat, with solo buttons.

The standalone Strat is like the PS3 LP patch - vaporware. All we have are rumors and release dates that keep getting pushed back, with no official word on either.
They might as well release it in a bundle with "Duke Nukem Forever" at the rate it's going.

People should really use the search function.
I'm not sure how many times I'm gonna post this today, it's already at too high of a count.

Just get two wireless GH Les Pauls. So nice to only need two guitars laying around that work with all the games. You do lose the solo fret buttons, which are fun to use, but it's worth it, IMO. You can get rid of the hub too.
If only they'd release a wireless mic with buttons...

typing the word "guitar" into the search function gives as many results as there are crack addicts in Toronto.

The drum kit's out, so's the mic. Why wouldn't they release the Strat??

My friend bought a standalone drum kit weeks ago. Dunno what backwaters you infest.
Guitars, April 1st, all wireless.

True which is proberly the reason no one takes time to look through all of them to find what they are looking for. I know it is annoying, but people would rather post a new thread than to look through thousands.

You never know we may get it. Do not forget Mad Catz has signed on to make Rock Band gear. So we will see what they come up with late this year.

We're talking about the Strat when I ask "so where is it?".

Having the option to buy a second strat would be pretty nice. I have grown very accustomed to using the strat. Having said that though, I agree that having two Les Pauls would be nice as well, wireless ftw. I hate that USB hub too.

We'll get the stand alone Strat in April.

Like we were going to get them December 5th, and then March 1st?
We'll be getting them in April, until May rolls around and then we'll be getting them in June.
In short, the date has been pushed back often enough that the actual release date is "I'll believe it when I see it".
PS3 owners are the only ones who really ought to care anyways, as the other platforms already have more reliable controllers to use. I like the look and feel of the Strat and I genuinely wish I could say it's the best controller for RB, but honestly it's junk. Many users, myself included, have had to tinker with the innards just to get it to work as it's supposed to.
I'd have sent mine back by RMA if it was a guarantee I'd get one that works 100% properly - but it's not. In fact, some people have never even received a replacement for the one they send in - so that's like throwing away your guitar.
I love the game, I like HMX, but someone along the line really needs to get their act together, get reliable equipment into the hands of those who already own the product, and get sufficient stock on the shelf to meet demand. We deserve better and expect better than what we've been getting.
