I just had an idea that would please us and please Rigapulos.
What if you COULD use a Wiimote gimmick or you could buy the peripherals? It would work, as it would please all of us on the Wii Rock Band Spectrum, and you wouldn't have to buy all of the peripherals if you didn't want to, but you could still play them.

But whats the point WITHOUT the peripherals Sora ?
SoraRikuVGM
08-24-2007, 10:12 AM
That's my point. IT NEEDS PERIPHERALS. Rigapulos is the one who said the Wiimote had 'enormous promise', not me. I DEMAND PERIPHERALS, but he thinks otherwise.

Anyway, you have to sit and wait. Maybe they'll bring the game to Wii, maybe not. Noone can tell at the moment. But I'm sure they know that a lot of people want it on the Wii too.

It could. It can support VC games, plus you forget about SD cards.
Why does everyone hate on the Wii? It isn't gonna hurt you if something that the 360 has is on Wii. :/

But if the content is stored on the SD couldnt you distribute that content on the net and thats bad by the way.

I'm sure there's a way they could maybe tie it into your wii console number somehow? I do see your point though, I have a Wii and would rather save myself a few hundred bucks and wait to get it on the Wii.

Well to be honest I'm bracing myself for the worst, and if I have to break down and buy a ****ty 360 just to play RB, then I will. I just dont like most games on the 360, so really, the only thing I'll be buying it for is RB, so i'd rather wait 6 months to play RB than to buy a 360 that will only be used for RB. I guess we'll see if and/or when they release it on the Wii, then I'll make a decision from there. I have a PS2, but I'd rather play RB on Wii or 360.

You can put VC games on an SD card, but you CAN'T transfer them to any Wii other than your own.
So, it could work very easily.

The only reason why I got the 360 was for GHII. It was worth it, and I don't own a lot of games. I really do like the XBLA, so that's worth it for me.

Yeah. I just dont like a lot of the games out there for the 360, I'm more of a PC game based person, I dont like a whole ton of console games, the only ones I OWN right now are just GH2, Resident Evil 4 (i dont even play that, got it for my roommate) and a bunch of PS2 games my mother bought for me at a garage sale for 5 dollars that I will never play.
I dont even own any games on my Wii, I just rent them, beat the game and return them in a week. So far none have been worth buying (i'm short on money, so i'd rather rent 5 games than buy 1), but they are all fun to play. I will probably buy GH3 on the Wii maybe... havent decided if I want to keep it on my PS2 or switch to Wii, and SSBB looks very good - played that on the game cube and it was a blast.

Wii is next gen, just because it isn't up to par with PS3 or 360 in some ways, it still is considered "next gen"
I think Wii is fine to focus on, and I don't know why developers wouldn't, it is selling better than any other system.
I personally am not waiting around for a Wii version, and I don't think it will be as good as a 360 or PS3 version anyways, so I'm just going to buy a 360 and Rock Band, and live happily ever after.

I guess it just matters what your definition of "next gen" is. I always just felt it was the next generation of system from a company, thus PS3, 360, and Wii are all the next generation consoles from their predecessors.
Either way, even if the system itself isn't up to par with the next gen consoles, the controls and the potential of the system easily is.

It was announced that GHIII won't support DLC or online for the Wii so apparently there is a problem with Nintendo's infrastructure that is making it not possible. This could be what is preventing it from being announced on the Wii.

To be exact, the PS3, 360, Wii are all "Current Gen" systems.
I have no problem with Rock Band coming on the Wii. But if it was like the PS2, and had limited online, and no downloadable content, would you still want it? Nintendo has pissed me off with their useless online, and lack of storage space. So I got a PS3.

Quoted from the article
When asked about online multiplayer a more glaring difference came up, though. As opposed to the other versions, the Wii installment may come without online features. Wii gamers could be missing out on both downloadable content as well as online multiplayer. The reason given was that Nintendo doesn?t have their online structure ready, and no one really knows when to expect it.Red Octane has not ruled out the possibility of launching the game without online features and then add them post-release, when the service gets up and running.
How bout next time you don't do your research you don't act about such a tool about it. and as for the box, It is obvious that Red Octane planed on making it online so that is why it is on the premade box.

Rock Band definatly needs the peripherals. I want to use the wiimote to saw off heads in Manhunt, aim and shoot with pixel perfect accuracy in Metroid, and slice people in half in No More Heroes, not as some sort of air drums or guitar.
Wii is not next gen its current gen, along with PS3 and the 360. "Next gen" is just a buzzword commercials use.
The Wii can get DLC and could fully handle RockBand despite what the Sony and M$ fanboys here want to believe. Whether or not its coming we don't know, personally I'd don't care I'm getting the 360 version as I already have X-plorers.

LOL i am far from rich. And i like the wii, it is genuinely fun and Nintendo did a great job to redefine themselves in the console market.
I just feel Rock Band is one of those games that simply won't be the same except on the 360 or ps3, and gamers are gonna be wasting their money on a half-baked experience.
If they can get a proper online system going (doesn't every game have it's own wii code?), and figure out the DLC issue i'm all for a wii version.

There's no way to know it but its certainly obvious the wii lacks certain features the others have. The ps2 version i feel is a test run for a later wii version. see how it sells and is percieved, and if it goes well port it to the wii.
