View Full Version : DLC And Audience Reaction? Does It Exist?

One of my favorite touches in Rock Band was playing songs like "Dead or Alive" and hearing the audience sing along. I've downloaded several songs but I don't seem to notice any of these touches.
My question is, do any of the DLC have these touches? Is it even possible? I know it may not seem like a big deal, but it always added more to the experience.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, but none of DLC has crowd singalong as far as I know. Too bad though because that's a really awesome touch that sets the game apart from other games.
Maybe they don't have the time or people to record the extra track, or they choose not to for file size reasons.

tbh, I never thought to check, but now that you mention it I dont remember hearing the crowd, and since I just got Livea month or so ago, all Ive been playing is DLC (I burnt myself out on the in game songs, well.....except Detroit Rock City and Highway Star)

This has come up several times. What I'm about to repeat here is strictly from an admittedly fuzzy memory, so I may not be 100%. Take it as you will.
If I recall correctly, the crowd sing-alongs were done by Wave Group, the company who also records all of Rock Band's covers. I think I remember seeing that adding it in was a very off the cuff idea by Wave Group, and nothing originally planned, but don't quote me on that. Anyway, obviously they had a lot of lead-up time to include it in the game, not to mention a relative lack of concern for file size, given that it's all on-disc.
But to include sing-alongs now for DLC would be a specific endeavor each and every time. This would require extra costs in both time to produce and test, as well as costs to hire Wave Group to record them, plus extra storage and transfer space on the XBL and PSN stores.
I do agree that they're a wonderful touch though, and hopefully we can at least see them pop up every now and again, if not as a constant inclusion.

Wow, that was a better response then I expected to be honest.
I can see how it would take extra time. I won't hold my breath for some of these smaller DLC packs, but hopefully if they release albums or even expansions, they can find a way to include it again.
