Microphone Help

I just hooked up RB and noticed I do not have a manual. Sorry to ask this if it is obvious but I can't get my microphone working. On multi player PS3 recognizes the drums and guitar but not the microphone. Am I missing something or do you think it is defective?

In order to "control" your mic on the PS3, you need to use your standard sixaxis (or compatible) controller. When in multiplayer, hit the X button on the controller to join the band with a vocalist (mic-using) character. Same with other modes. Also, this post belongs in the Tech Support forum, FYI.
