So I'm flipping through cable channels and come across one showing highlights of the 2002? Boston Red Sox World Series Victory. In one of the shots of the Boston crowd, rather prominently is a huge red and white sign "Yes We Can".
Knowing that Harmonix is based out of Boston and there are probably a few Sox fans on staff, I had to wonder if the song is some sort of veiled tribute to that World Series victory. The whistle part of the song sounds sort of like a parade, perhaps a reference to their victory parade?

I don't think so, the song is written by the band Made In Mexico. And they don't live in Boston, although they may be fans of the team.
Either way the song is terrible and does not deserve a thread!! jk lol

They're in Providence, Rhode Island and as a guy who has traveled to Boston from Providence I can say it's a hell of a trip. I say no.
Good thinking though and if Sean confirms this they're sneaky little bastards.

I live in Mass and I'm a Red Sox Fan. We don't have any chants at Red Sox games that include "Yes we can" or have any crazy little sayings that include it either(anyone remember cowboy up?). That sign is just a coincidence, it meant that "Yes we can win a championship, we're not cursed", you know, **** like that.
But you know, those crazy nuts in "Made in mexico" could be referring to the red sox in their song since out of all New England sports teams, the red sox are the most popular, it just doesn't really make much sense.

Omg that song was so bad. The guitar was like playing a piano.
