Yeah RockBand is indeed a great music rhythm game , and everyone loves it :) but there's always something we don't like something we would like to change so discuss away.

I hate the fact that i haven't seen any Ps3 instruments.
I wish i could change the game so you could take a picture and put it on your character.

But in all seriousness, I'm not too fond of the animation of the drummer. Looking at the PAX videos, the drummer looks pretty stupid. Like, very unrealistic headbanging and stuff. Also, the track list could have some more popular bands from the 80's. Van Halen, AC/DC, Def Leppard. Those bands.

I noticed the drummer animation too. It look like it was running too fast. Like what some fan made charts do in GH2 when they have the tempo set real high.

And most of the choices are mainstream because more people know how to sing these songs rather than other non-radio hits from their albums. I'm sure we'll see lesser known (and better) songs by these artists as DLC.

Not to get off topic, but I think it'd be best if they balance mainstream songs with "lesser known (but better)" songs (as someone put it, I think).

Keeping in mind this game costs a lot, and is made to play with a group of friends, its essentially a more interactive form of karaoke. And when people go out to karaoke bars (assuming people do that kind of thing) I imagine they do the cliched songs like Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) and I Touch Myself (Divinyls)...(why those two songs came to mind, I don't know, and don't care to try to explain). Basically they sing well known songs. (Has anyone ever requested Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now"? I doubt it).

So my point is, if this is a party game, which I think it is, it'd be better for the songs in the game (or at least the ones on the disc when it launches) should be geared more for that market. The more obscure songs, even if they are really good, can be an option through DLC.

The dead horse is thoroughly beaten, but think of it this way. I have a lot of friends who dont play games much (I don't even play games much), so when they come hang out at my place, and decide to play Rock Band, do you think they'll have more fun playing a song they know and can have fun with (which is why I used Journey as an example in an earlier post...everybody knows Journey songs), or a good song they never heard before?

1) More 60s songs
2) More 80s songs
3) More Metal Songs
4) New Drummer Animation
5) A true Face/Model maker
6) Cross platform compatibility (so we ALL can play together as ONE community, instead of being fractured - WE ARE ALL GAMERS DAMNIT!!!)
7) Stage FX editor
8) Ability to see others play OR see a replay of what we already played
9) Ability to make our own videos (see above) from play and edit them a la THPG or Skate
10) No additions/subtractions to the songs (a la GH2E:RT80s, don't like the remixed bits!)

There we go! That's my list of grandiose *****ing about an unreleased game! Am I right or what? =P

Popularity is the gateway drug to getting your less popular songs from DLC, as someone else mentioned. For the bands, DLC albums might be a great way to revitalize album sales of older material or increase general interest in a band. It's all good.

Distinct Lack of Metal (praying for DLC)
No Double Bass (or even extra port for adding a second bass drum.. that we know of, at least) (this one really isn't a problem if theres no metal.. but god would that be fun as hell once you get to expert..)

I still dream of the day when Suck Out The Poison (He Is Legend) or Paradise Lost (Symphony X) come to DLC Albums.. chance is probably .06% though.. so sad.. they would be so amazingly fun.

I think I misunderstood the article I read. It said that it was coming to Europe in Spring 2008, and no announcement was made for North America. I interpreted that as there are no plans for North America. That wouldn't make sense though.

Yeah, the only reason I'd buy it on the 360 would be for the DLC, but I'm sure they could do the same thing for the Wii...just harder since Nintendo makes it so difficult on themselves with friend codes, and all.

All I have right now is a PS2...been holding off on the next gen consoles until I saw more of what they have to offer. Right now the 360 is ahead, with the Wii close behind. I might go with the Wii if they can pull off Rock Band, and it's DLC.

This is because during the singing parts of songs the game detects pitch and NOT phenomes, right? During the parts of songs that is more like talking, it picks up the phenomes in your voice, si?

We still dont quite know how deep the create a rocker will be. the one we saw was just a build. Harmonix is working hard to make this game possible and it will be ground breaking or if not then close to it. Im not flamming you in any way, cuz I try and respect peoples opinions and such, but the game isnt out yet, we dont know what Harmonix has up its sleeve for us. Theres still some game mode that HMXSean hasnt said anything about and...well point is, we only know so much about this game and its not even out yet.

Not much to hate by Rock Band. Lack of information? Pricing? Gameplay, I don't see it being anything other than Guitar Hero, Drum Hero, Kareoke Revolution and Band Hero, which is INCREDIBLY good value. 4 GAMES IN 1 :D

My biggest issue with this game is that EA is involved, as someone said earlier. I really detest EA for what they did to their employees a few years back. I had a friend at EA, and after all of the class-action suits, he had to move to Canada to keep his job.

They knew holding back OT pay was unethical, and they did it anyway. That's about as low as a corporation can get.

Why does everyone include "60 dollars for the game" into a price guesstimate? The disc itself only cost a buck or two to produce. They can afford to give 'em away. The revenue that will be generated due to DLC will far than make up for it. The controllers have to be manufactured at a plant full of starving chinese children and will require shipping all over the world. So they need to recoup what they are putting out.

So I dont see why 60 guitar 20 mic and 80 drums= 160 is out of the question. It's like hardware.. Recoup or maybe even lose a little on the initial sale and reap great rewards on software, or in this case DLC later.

Why does everyone include "60 dollars for the game" into a price guesstimate? The disc itself only cost a buck or two to produce. They can afford to give 'em away. The revenue that will be generated due to DLC will far than make up for it. The controllers have to be manufactured at a plant full of starving chinese children and will require shipping all over the world. So they need to recoup what they are putting out.

So I dont see why 60 guitar 20 mic and 80 drums= 160 is out of the question. It's like hardware.. Recoup or maybe even lose a little on the initial sale and reap great rewards on software, or in this case DLC later.

The disc costs a buck or two to produce, but what is on the disc cost a couple of million to create. That is why the disc price is included. Because the info on that disc is worth the price you play.

They can't afford to just "give the game away" because that is where the highest profit margins are. They probably make very little on the controllers because they are expensive to produce. But as was mentioned, the game discs and packaging probably cost a few dollars at most to make, so most of the $50-$60 is profit which goes towards the production costs of the game.

I keep hearing that but as we get closer I'm not seeing anyone deny the pricing.

My main concern is the $20 price differece between the 360 and ps3 wireless guitars. GH3 guitar prices look like they are the same price for 360 and PS3 so it cant be the wireless licensing (or the GH3 guitar is overpriced on both).

Also I'd like to see confirmation of what is included in these bundles so I can either change or cancel my pre-order.

Well it's about time I heard someone mention this! Got to be the dumbest feature that a game like GH could ever have. I was all set to buy both GH3 and RB until this. And as far as I've seen, you have to suffer through it when you play the bosses. Lame.

Nonsense poopypants, They are gonna rake in the dough on the DLC. But only if people have the game to DL stuff to. If it is priced too high for the general (not fanatic) populace, then it will be left sitting on shelves, Then what happens to the profit margin?
