Strum up, loose sponge on 360

Ive had rock band for a while now and i play guitar 90% of the time so it is used most frequently. I have a strange habit of strumming up all the time, it tends to be easier for me. But about 2 to 3 months after i bought the game i noticed that a small black sponge was coming looses from inside the strum bar at the top. is this due to a faulty guitar or my strge strumming habits?

also, the guitar works fine as of now, im just a little concerned

That little sponge is what makes the strummer come back to its center position. With this comming out of the stummer will cause problems in the future.

I have a habit of stumming up more than down as well. I haven't had this problem, yet. But I am kind of expecting it.

I would send in an RMA for the guitar as it has started to malfunction. (Yes, the sponge comming out the stummer is a malfunction) This way you get the RMA done before it really dies on you and you are stuck without a guitar for a few weeks.
