PS3 and 360

Everything about the ps3 is better from a hardware point of view.

The problems are
1) online, it may be free but it lacks acheivements (not tardpoints, nobody ever lacked those) and voice chat (optional voicechat). With any luck home will sort this out, for free no less
2) game library, not much that they can do about that when developers are either bought out, generally in bed with MS (you know you are, EA) or are just unwilling to develop for PS3 (that's valve, but at least they're honest about it)
3) development tools, MS gives developers nice friendly coding environments, sony gives them sod all. it means that many developers are scared off, but the ones that are left are able to get into the nitty gritty of the system and pump it for all its worth, which is much more than the 260
4) price, better system = more money, it's not hard to figure out

personally, none of those are a real issue for me or really things I'd call the playstation's fault. Despite sony crippling the PS3 in europe I bought one because I support the principles behind the thing. I'm also buying a wii this summer (my flatmate has one already so no point getting one until then) because I support the principle behind the wii.
The principle behind the 360 is more of the same but with slightly flashier graphics, that I'm not a fan of and won't invest in
