:D Thanks for all the PAX stuff you guys are posting here, sounds like it was awesome and you all had a blast. Also sounds like Sean is truly an awesome dude and a man of his words and you all got hooked up big time.
However, haven't seen anyone get into any of the other kind of features that were supposedly available. The only thing I've found is this quote from over on the NeoGAF forums...
Rock Band - This game looks, feels and plays fantastic. After speaking with a few of the developers/PR peeps I am 100% on board with this title and will probably skip GH3 because of it. The character creation system is excellent and you'll be able to take your avatars over to multiplayer games (which they noted were nearly lag free, even across continents). Hell, you can even pick the mood of your character so I decided to make this totally pathetic emo chick who hated life and she came out perfectly!
What I like best about the game besides the admittedly stellar gameplay was the campaign (tour) system. You basically start out in one city and as you get more popular you are able to play different bars/venues... you can even play charity shows! At some point you can play in a battle of the bands to win a van, and if you succeed you can start playing gigs all over the east coast and beyond. They didn't go into detail as to how this scales but they did mention you playing arenas in Tokyo so I imagine when you get big you'll prob. have access to a plane.
Another cool element is that you get to create your own set lists, so your shows can be as short or as long as you want and the encores are totally up to you! You can either Rock the art gallery or pull an Axle Rose and bow out after three songs in an packed arena. This game is all about customization and playing a role in the band.
Now that, right there, is pretty awesome ****.
Mood selection? Yes please.
Sounds like the campaign portion is pretty rad and in-depth...
But best of all...build your own set lists! YES! That's one thing I was wanting from day 1 and just so freakin awesome. Cannot wait to hear more about that...
Anyway, HMX...I was feeling a little bit let-down as I was really hoping to find out stuff like this from PAX...thought maybe you hadn't displayed previously unseen stuff like you had promised. But now I realize that it was there, it's just hard to get everyone to stop focusing on just rocking out and having a blast and actually look at the other stuff there. So glad this dude did at least...

Ditto on set-list creation. That pretty much sells me right there (as if I weren't already). I eat that stuff up, where I can spend hours upgrading my equipment, gaining money, etc. I probably won't get tired of single player until I've unlocked everything, then I can do it all over again with my friends :)
And maybe the mood selection is the Rocker/Punk motion cap difference we've already seen, or could it be something different? I'm thinking it's the former.

Ok I completely never saw this persons post, but now that I have, this is some amazing stuff!

Both of these things sound so cool, and really add to the effect of being in a band! I love that you have to earn your way around the country and into other countries. I also really love the idea of making your own setlists! This game is going to be amazing, if I wasn't sold already I would be by now, I cannot wait for Rock Band.

If the create-a-setlist thing works how i think it does, that means we can (hopefully) incorporate the DLC songs with the songs on the disc, which would be awesome
My Perfect Last City Setlist:
-----Enter Sandman (perfect to open - dark stage until the guitar really kicks in with that first heavy distorted riff, cue the strobes...just my opinion tho :p)
-----For Whom the Bell Tolls (not announced for DLC.....yet.....a man can hope :D)
-----Go With The Flow
-----Vasoline
-----Tom Sawyer
-----Highway Star
(curtains close.......ENCORE)
-----Baba O' Reily (smooth transition into...)
-----Won't Get Fooled Again (crowd goes crazy, and the after party ensues :p)
If i can pull that off in the game, i will be EXTREMELY happy. The only way i could be ANY happier, is if I can, throw some Dream Theater in the mix, shift the Who down from encore, and throw in Rock and Roll, Achillies Last Stand, and Whole Lotta Love in their place. I wouldn't play any other games for a LOOOOONG while if THAT were possible.....but who knows....:D

Awesome! This game just keeps getting better and better! :D
But I don't think these awesome features were on the demo at PAX.
I asked Sean, and he said the demo was the same one from e3 with a few extra songs.

Set lists is the one thing I've been asking for more than anything else.
HMX just made my Christmas.

Sabotage
In Bloom
Tom Sawyer
Creep
Blitzkrieg Bop
Don't Fear the Reaper
Highway Star
Suffragette City
Closer: Gimme Shelter
Encore 1:Enter Sandman
Encore 2: Should I Stay or Should I Go

So these things weren't on the demo, or just that no one messed around with them? Like I said, I stole that quote off GAF, so have no idea who actually wrote it up and saw these features, I'd hate to be spouting incorrect info...
Oh, and why does everyone thing WGFA is a final encore? I think it'd work great as an opener...

Those are awesome features. I mean, I reckon with those features, but still nice to "officialy" hear that they are in the game.

YES, the good news just keeps on coming. i've always thought about how cool it would be to create a setlist and play a "show" on GH. the setlist feature is extremely crucial when u bring in the element of DLC. i wana be able to transisition from a Radiohead song into a Pink Floyd song, then to maybe a Bloc Party song...endless possibilities!

Yes, this will be a very "noobish" question, by being able to build our own setlists, does this mean once the game is loaded up and your playing Song X, that the game will automatically transition into Song Z? Or does Song X end, go to an after song menu (to see score and note streak, etc... like GH) and back to a main menu where you see "My Custom Setlist"?
If it transitions in game, this sounds really cool and mighty conveniant and wont interrupt the mood of just wanting to jam. :)

Oh, and why does everyone thing WGFA is a final encore? I think it'd work great as an opener...
cause it's The ****ING Who!!!! You have to close with them.......unless of course Led Zep somehow makes it into the game :D

This sounds great. I really hope this is in there, and I hope it's smooth transition after a few seconds into another song... and it doesn't make you go to a menu, then select the next song or hit continue. Instead of leaderboards for songs... they could have a "concert/setlist" leaderboard just for this!

If it transitions after a few seconds, which it should if HMX is as cool as we think they are, I think you should keep the Rock meter at the level it was at the end of the song at the beginning of the next.

Most of the public demos only enable quickplay, from what I understand. In all the videos you'll notice everyone is using the same premade characters we've seen from the beginning. (Purple haired girl, green haired guy, head band drummer, and long haired singer) This is the first I'd heard of anyone who didn't work for HMX getting their hands on Campaign stuff/Character creator.
If it's all true, then you totally made my day.

my medium size venue list.
Opener:Jet are you gonna be my girl
-okgo-Here it goes again
-The strokes-reptilia
-Weezer-Say aint so (calmed down part of concert)
-The hives-Main offender
-Ramones-Blitzkreig bop
-end with in bloom by nirvana
encore-Nine inch nails hand that feeds
That would work great and if muse makes it that will replace nine inch nails
