View Full Version : Approach to doing the Band Tour - Question

Hi folks, long time reader, first time poster...
Here is my question, we have been doing the Band Tour since day 1 of release and decided to start all over. We decided to start over because during the first go around we didnt realize that losing fans actually mattered. We ended up getting to a point to where we had to replay alot of the songs that we already did just to get enough fans to proceed. We figured we might as well start over so our play didnt become redundant.
So, we started over and we actually follow what the Manager says (does this even matter?) We are at a point now where we're stuff in London doing the set of Suffragette City, Reaper and Sandman on HARD.
Everytime we lose or fail a song, we turn off the system so we dont lose fans. I know, we suck, but we're just trying to keep the fans.
So my (our) question is, do we just go away from what the manager tells us and start a different gig and come back to London when assuming we'll get better at that time?
Also, whats more important - Stars or Fans? i.e., do we get do certain songs on Hard (we're not at Expert yet...) to get fans or stay on Medium to get stars, but no fans.
Any suggestions will help, thanks in advance!

I say the hell with the manager. I just play places I like or try to complete all thats available until I do what the Manager tell me.
What the manager tells you only help you beat Band World Tour very very very quickly with no real accomplishment...
But yeah, I say you suck for turning off the system. Play the game its meant to play. If you lose fans, youll get them back on things you can play better.

You don't have to play on any level above medium.
I agree with PikkuKaiShinto, have fun. I don't like failing a song, but I'd hate to reload every time it happens.

The manager will help you open up more gigs at a faster rate so that part is up to you. Stars are great but fans are the most important because it opens up more cities, venues, gigs.
I would just worry about getting better as a band. Failing a song is just a temporary growing pain, it will make the whole band better. Don't worry about losing fans because on medium you will get capped at 260,000. You can fail a ton and will still end up here when your ready to move up to hard difficulty.
PRO TIP: Avoid as many of the custom setlists as possible. It's best to save those for when you are ready to move up to hard, and you can pick and choose songs that are on the easy tiers of difficulty. Giving you the best shot at passing the songs and moving past that fan cap. Which will open up more gigs.

There are a few that force you to pick Hard.
But none force you to play Expert.

I have been misinformed.

One example I know from heart (because I got one friend that sucks on Expert and some hard... even on Bass.....) is Welcome Home. You MUST play it on Hard. So if its the 1st time you ever play it, or sing it. You might fail (like what we did... I did well on singing while my sister killed on Guitar but then my friend dies on Bass....)

Well if you're having that big of a problem, perhaps try redoing the tour starting on easy and slowly moving up, earning a bunch of fans as you go. Then you'll have more if you need 'em!

Ah, that makes sense. So in a nutshell, just play and keep playing and try not to care so much for the stars or fans. Just play?

When you finish the Endless Setlist, THEN go back and play/slaughter those on the difficulty you feel comfortable with. Youll get back your fans in no time.

Basically, you need stars for Hall of Fame and the Endless Setlist.
You need fans for the bigger venues.
Right now, my wife and I are pretty much in a happy spot on Medium difficulty. We'll move up to Hard at some point, though that might require a new band since I think she'll need to sing (she's not much of a gamer). But the important thing is that we're having fun even though we've capped our fans.
You can always redo sets at a higher difficulty if you want to earn more fans so as to open up other cities/venues. You won't get more stars if you already capped them but your fans will still increase.
