I just got to thinkin' that there's a pretty good chance that songs appearing in RockBand will also be in GHIII... So I'm curious, are RockBand dev's communicating with Red Octane/Neversoft to work around potential extreme similarities in the two games?

And if so have you had an fights over who gets what songs? Don't be afraid to accidentally let slip some song names when you answer this;)

lol, that's a pretty desperate attempt to get songs named, but I like your style ;)

I was thinking this today as well.. well not that there'd be the same songs as I'd assume contracts would be drawn.. but at least the same artists making a double appearance across both titles.

More importantly, I was hoping that they do have some kind of friendly agreement going on, because if record labels suddenly found that they could get a bidding war going on between Rock Band and GH for certain tracks from artists.. well it most likely wouldn't help anyone in the long run.

I also hope that just because a song appears in GH that it doesn't rule it out from appearing in RB further down the road.. that would certainly suck.

(the other way around, I admit I wouldn't mind so much lol)

well they're certainly trying to play dirty

Activision said Guitar Hero "has attracted imitators," seemingly implying Rock Band is going to be more of a GH retread than an original concept.

Activision used to be one of the best companies out there and now they make me want to hate them. I'm still gonna buy GHIII but after RB. Take That frickin Activision......imitators.....show you imitators....

It is fair to attack opponents, I dislike it but does that comment really hurt anyone?

Let the games speak for themselves, when RockBand is released it will stand on its own.

Besides, there is room for two rhythm games.

I know I was just messing around. I'm crazy like that. Stick around and towards the release of the game you'll see how crazy I get. :D

Neversoft are good guys though. Activision? Nor so much.

Agreed... Now we just need to convince the companies making and distributing the games.

I don't think there will be any repeat songs, but I do have a feeling RB will have a better songlist. I just want some sick music that is fun to rock out to - and some challenging songs like GH2 had too, not some pussied down version like Activision sounds like it might do, and if their controller doesnt feel right or the timing is off then they are done for.

However, what I did realize is now that there is both GH and RB that's basically equivilant to 2 GH's a year - only better.

Man, I am so excited.

Here's hoping for plentiful and affordable DLC.. it's not doing too well on gh2 360 so far

Activision already screwed up Johnny Naplam. I would be loling on the floor if GH fails and Rock Band becomes new Guitar Hero. And the cycle repeats. ;)

Guitar Hero already has such a perfect system going for it. It is like DDR no huge gameplay enhancements need to be made. Just small tweaks.

Though they can try to revolutionize it, I will still buy it.

this is true, however activision has to first not F up the gameplay that made gh so great or else they will alienate huge fans.

it'll be funny to see one song on both games like which one to choose.
