I'd love to see something from Sleater-Kinney in Rock Band. One song I always love listening to is Rollercoaster from their last album, The Woods. I think that, or many other of their songs would make a great addition to Rock Band.
As for the pop-punk, come on Harmonix, give us some Mr. T Experience! Sackcloth And Ashes, or Who Needs Happiness (I'd Rather Have You).
Also, anything from Ted Leo & The Pharmacists. Ted is such a great singer/songwriter/guitarist, he really deserves some attention from a major game like this. Me And Mia or Where Have All The Rude Boys Gone would be awesome.
Edit: Thanks so much for the QOTSA, and bring some more Rage!

S-K would be amazing! "Dig Me Out" would get my vote, but i'd really be happy with anything by S-K.

One thing I had thought of after posting was since S-K has no bassist, maybe we could get lead and rhythm guitar parts instead of the bass. That would be perfect.

Hell yeah! Sleater-Kinney. And Ted Leo!

Sleater-Kinney and pop-punk, eh? Interesting combination.
I'd be desperate to see Sleater-Kinney make it to the set-list, either the game's or as a download. They're perfect for Rock Band: their songs are almost exclusively two guitars, drums, and voice; they rock pretty damn hard; and they're all pretty damn close to virtuoso as far as their respective instruments (Carrie Brownstein's knotty guitar lines, Corin Tucker's powerful vocals, Janet Weiss's amazing drumming).
Songs off the top of my head (or, more truthfully, off the top of my iTunes tracklist) : Jumpers, The Fox, Entertain, Rollercoaster, Let's Call it Love, Wilderness, Step Aside, Oh!, O2, Sympathy, Prisstina, Start Together, The End of You, Get Up, Dig Me Out, One More Hour, Little Babies, Not What You Want, Words and Guitar, Turn it On, Call the Doctor, Good Things, I Want to Be Your Joey Romone, All Hands on the Bad One, and You're No Rock & Roll Fun.
Yeah, so, in essence, their entire back catalog would probably do just fine.

Bump, as I still want to hear that Sleater-Kinney gets put in the game, or is available for DLC. Am I wrong in thinking there are no songs with female singers? I didn't go back to double check the announced list, but come on Harmonix, don't be sexist!

I can't imagine this happening, Carrie Brownstein wrote a review for Slate when the game was being released and took the position that Rock Band was a waste of time and that people would be better served by starting a real band.

Nah, she liked it. She's just a terrible writer (hence her positive review came out a negative.) It just sounds negative because she's riffing on the whole authenticity thing.
She had a follow-up (http://www.npr.org/blogs/monitormix/2007/11/are_we_not_gamers.html) on her blog that clarified what she thought about the game.

I am assuming (ok, more like hoping) that we shall see Sleater-Kinney as DLC just from the fact that she was asked to work on promotional ideas for the game, and was given a copy of the game by an EA PR person (at least to test out, I can't recall if she got to keep it).
Seriously, I'm drooling at the thought of an SK track pack.

She works for the biggest ad agency in Portland with lots of rock and roll ties (they once arranged a private Beatie Boys show for their staff). I think that had as much to do with it.
Never know, it could happen. I still got the feeling that even though she begrudgingly admitted to liking it that she had a stick up her nose about doing so.

Add mine to the voices clamoring for S-K. I was listening to "The Drama You've Been Craving" the other day and thinking "I wish I could play this in Rock Band".

Wish granted,
Unfortunately they picked "You're no Rock and Roll Fun" which, though appropriate, really doesn't showcase what an awesome band this is. This is particularly true for the drums on that track.
What I'd really like to see is the whole Hot Rock album or tracks from The Woods.
If they had to pick an "accessible" track I would have rather they chose "Entertain"

Yeah, I know it isn't the best song of theirs to pick, but beggars can't be choosers. Let's hope we get some more S-K down the road.
Another "game appropriate" song would be I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone, which has always been one of my faves.
