I'm sure we got Sox fans out there!
Yankees are down 16-0 to the Tigers right now :)
I'm looking forward to this series coming up. We're going to be at least 10 games up from them when it's all said and done.
AL East Pennant here we come!
Also, kudos to Seattle for holding onto the Wild Card so far. Glad to see them doing well too.

Yes, yes they do. :)
I won't start flaunting it though until the sox actually finish the season.

I always try to be careful as well. They keep talking about '78. But when you know it's mathematically impossible, that's when you know it's over.
I was still rooting for the Sox last year when they were 13 back in the Wild Card, but until it was literally impossible by numbers, that's when I gave up.
Cool site here:

I just like how it says the Sox have a 97.7% chance of winning the Division.
I don't like how it still says a 56.7% chance to still get in the playoffs.
EDIT: Yankees + Playoffs = Choke
We all know Mr. April, but he's also Ms. October :)

I'm a little worried about the Sox in the playoffs. Don't they seem beat up lately? Especially Ortiz.......
But who am I kidding, I'm as optimistic as always

Hurting, like injured you're saying? Sort of.
Ortiz is coming around though, he's knocked 3 homeruns in the last 5 games. That's always good news.
As long as we stay healthy, there will be no worries. We have outstanding pitching, the best bullpen, and a batting order that any hitter has the capability of knocking in runs.
Youk deserves a Gold Glove at first, Lowell is having a tremendous season, Manny and Papi always get hot later in the season, I can go on forever :D

They are playing terrible, especially tonight, I had to turn the game off at about 7 - 0 in the 4th I believe. And I'm a Yankees fan too...but this really just isn't their best season.

Whew, at first I thought maybe there was a band called the Yankees and a huge flame war was going to start up.
At least sports teams have objectively measureable suckiness...

:) Well, every year I have to listen to Yankee fans talking about the Sox sucking and blah blah, so now I have the bragging rights and will put them to good use.
Every Yanks fan always go back to the "and how many championships have we won?"
You can hang onto the past if you want, but you still haven't won a World Series since 2000.
It was exactly this time last year that we got off the Boston Massacre of '06. Every Yankee was running around rubbing it in how the Sox suck and blew the season.
I'm just happy we're finally going to win the Division since it's been 12 years! :D

I hate the brand of the Yankees. Seeing their caps in Northern England just offends me - why are you supporting a corrupt team (from the minimum baseball news I get) in a sport the British invented as an alternative to alredy-suckish rounders when in Britain we have much better sports (try and forget polo - we don't all have horses and are rich aristocracy :))
But hey you all think "soccer" sucks too :D

Are you talking about how they're actually called The Yankees? Isn't that what you call dumb Americans too? lol

Na, I call them "yanks"
I was talking bout the yankees, like the famous baseball cap, they're around here and its a bit like "come on, haven't you got a football team or something to support?"
But, if you saw someone with a Man United (i'm a Man City fan) "soccer" shirt, and if you actually recognised it, then I'm sure you'd be wondering why they're interested in it.

I get ya now. Yea that's the big thing over here, and another reason why I do not like the NY Yankees. Everyone and their mother is a fan, just because they're the biggest known team, and used to be great.
If I see someone wearing a Chicago Cubs hat, you know they're a devoted fan. It's too easy to be a Yankees fan, or pretend to be one.
Perfect example was Raider87, no offense to him, but he's from Chicago, support your local team, no matter how bad they suck. Even though the Cubs are doing great this year too.
Don't get me started on Americans who all of a sudden purchased David Beckham jerseys!

Hearhear about the support your local team pal, and I know all too well when people from hundreds of miles away support the two big teams in the football league.
And yeah lol, I remember that a ton of United fans moved to Real Madrid fans when Beckham moved and the same is happening again, when now American soccer shirts (and remember, your soccer teams aren't that good) are being sold in UK shops! There's economic globalisation for ya haha :P

lol@ American soccer. Even though I grew up playing it. It's just not appreciated here like real Futbol is around the world.
Anywho, back to the topic of American's greatest past-time: Baseball!
Sox-Yanks series starts tonight, I say even if we get just 1 game out of this series, the division is over. Torre is still talking about the division, but they should be more concerned with what Seattle is doing.
