Rock Band Can't Handle the THRASH PACK

Guitar is great, reminds me of the old guitar hero songs which we're actually challenging.

The drums CAN NOT handle these songs. I think DOA was alright, but there is SO much left out even though you are doing bass pedal every note. WE NEED A DOUBLE BASS PEDAL. It's awesome to feel like you're playing the real song, but as a drummer IRL-- I can't appreciate these songs as much.

If you want a double bass pedal, mod one. =]

I, for one, would NOT want them supplying me with not just one, but TWO ****ty plastic pedals to break, AND require me to use both in order to beat a song. One ****ty plastic pedal is bad enough.

Yeah, it would be fun to have a double bass pedal, but with all of the hardware malfunctions I don't think EA wants twice the RMAs they already have. It's just too bad they can't release versions that have double bass in them for people that have mods because it would probably be impractical.

You don't need one. HMX dumbs the songs down to where you CAN play it with one pedal. A lot of those "double bass" parts would be 2x or 3x the yellow bars if they have us an official double bass pedal to use.

the at the gates song was one of the first songs I learned on (real) drums when I bought them in high school... so i'm not too worried about it (it's easy, it's just fast)

ALTHOUGH... i can play run to the hills in real life, but i cant pass that in the game haha... so who knows

Here's the thing about At The Gates. I don't think the beat is hard at all. I just can't play fast enough :( Guess it's time for some serious technique improvement!!

Dude, I'm so glad to hear that another real drummer is having issues with RttH. I learned that song like 25 years ago on drums and it's really not that hard. After playing and not passing on RB after about 30 minutes I had to go down stairs and get on my real set an play the song to see what the hell was going on. LOL I think it has to do something with the hihat and the snare location. But like you said...who knows?:) I have passed Rtth since then, but it's sloppy as hell. Just can't get it perfected. So I guess practice practice and more practice.

Yeah dude, I think this is the reason. Personally I am getting impatient but if some of these killer RB drummers are only getting through the first 30 seconds of the song, then it must be INSANE!! So I'll have to remain patient. I actually need to just go and download the stuff and try it out myself. So hopefully someone can get something up soon. ;)

the problem is that the note charts have been dumbed down because of the lack of double pedal, which means that it still wouldn't feel realistic with the double pedal.

It's like expert songs in the original GH where they just missed notes out altogether

chillzatl posted this link in another thread. Seems like a good pedal for double bass. I'm not sure I want to spend another $150 though.........The $150 comes with 2 pedals and a double pedal device called the Twin Rocker.

well maybe one day Harmonix will get a double bass and they will patch all the songs that need it.

Actually, Alex Rigopulos has once stated in an interview that they might think about releasing such hardware add-ons like for example a double bass pedal. In fact, one Harmonix Employee seems to have cut open the wires of two bass pedals and connected in order to get a double bass pedal. Anyone got some spare pedals to try this ou? ;-)
