I doubt it, but I'll ask anyways. Will Harmonix have a booth at X07? Before you guys ask, no it didn't get canceled it's happening tomorrow in Toronto.
I just noticed EA was listed as one of the companies that will be there, so I was wondering if Rock Band would be too.

I think they've just gotten back from PAX this morning, so I would doubt it :(

well EA could still carry the game, not Harmonix. Wasn't it just EA at Leipzeig? I don't think Harmonix went. So EA could carry the game I guess.

EA could make an annoucement by themselves HMX said anything from them is just as reputable as HMX saying it. Pricing could be a possibel annoucement X07 is more of an "official" industry event. Not knowcking PAX but it's more of by fans withf riends in teh industry for fans.

That makes sense Logicalnoise.
As EA are the distributors, it's more likely you'd hear pricing, release date, and packaging info from them.
HMX announces gameplay and content info.

I thought there is no X07 this year?

Every year Canada hosts their own X0. It's not the same big venue but it's a place for upcoming games nonetheless (likely Halo 3 will be the biggest showing)

1. Harmonix was at Leipzig.
2. I don't expect any new info for at least a month.
3. I do think Rock Band will make an appereance in some form (demo, trailer, EA montage, that kind of thing).

Well I just checked the XBOX Forums. Both GH3 and RB were in attendance and it just makes me more upset that I wasn't able to get an invite. Oh well. Nothing new just that the games were there for play.

Long time lurker first time poster. RB and GH3 were both at the X07 event and RB was by far the best party game I've ever played. Got to play drums, guitar and mic. First the drums did click clack but I found that if you didn't hit them that hard the sound went away. However hitting the drums softly was hard to do when you were rocking out. I'm no drummer so I found the drums to be very hard, especially the timing on the bass pedal. I failed a few times when playing but I'm sure with practice things would be better.
The guitar was awesome. Probably the best guitar controller I've ever used. It felt heavy and solid and I love the fret buttons it feels much more like playing a real guitar. I also tried the GH3 controller and I got to say I like the RB one better. I didn't try out the buttons on the top of the neck but the RB rep from EA did confirm that you could use those for the whole song. The strum bar was a little larger than the GH one and didn't click. It felt softer than the GH one which I appreciated. It should make double strumming a little easier. All the RB guitars were wired.
The microphone was in my opinion the cheapest feeling of the instruments, but then it is a microphone. Its smaller than I thought. Playing tamborine during Tom Sawyer was great it really brought you back into the song during non singing parts. I played on easy level which was great you basically only need to sing the words and didn't have to worry to much about pitch. The game masked my horrible voice so it actually sounded passable :)
I can totally see this as being one of the best party games and definately a better party game than GH. When there was a large crowd around you couldn't help but putting on a little show for the crowd.
I only had two complaints about the gameplay itself. First was the hammer on/off notes. In GH those have little white halos around them. In this version of RB the notes were different sized. Sometimes it was hard to pick them out. However those notes were also closer to the regular notes than in GH so I'm sure its just something to get used to. The other was the timing for the notes didn't seem to be as forgiving as the GH games, especially on the drums. This probably won't be a problem for the people on this forum but for casual players it could be a problem. It was very frustrating to keep failing the song and having to wait until you came back in. In Tom Sawyer (which I was singing on) the drummer failed part way through the song and was never brought back in, even though everyone else was playing well. Given what I saw though I'm sure that all these things will be worked out in the next couple of months.
