Problems linking forum account to X360 GamerTag

I'm trying to link my forum account JakeARoonie to my XBox 360 GamerTag (Jullinar). I followed the instructions on the account linking page, checked my Windows Live ID, and everything checks out... Verified I wasn't signed into Windows Live, but when I clicked the last button to link it all up and typed my Windows Live email addy and password, it keeps coming back saying that this GamerTag doesn't have any Rock Band data associated with it. What can I do?

Did you change your gamertag at all? I have ran into this same problem and it is because of that. I remember reading a post from Harmonix saying they were aware of the problem, hope they can fix it!

I too am having this problem. I check to make sure i am not signed in. and then i try to link the account, and I get the same error saying that the gamertag doesn't have Rock Band data associated with it.

I haven't changed my tag. I am not logged in, and when I click to link I don't even get to put in my gamertag or anything. I don't know how it would know whether or not there was any rock band info connected with it.

If you could e-mail your gamertags, Rockband.com names and Live IDs to support@harmonixmusic.com and put in the subject "Xbox Live Linking Issue," we can keep track of who's having problems. That would help us out a lot.

I am also having this problem. I just sent an email to the harmonix support email address provided by HMXveng regarding this issue. If anyone finds out any new information about this problem, please let me know.

Edit: I changed my gamertag name about a month ago to "Matric387" from "MatricOmega". Though the leaderboards on the actual game reflect this change, it still is not updated on the Rock Band Website Leaderboards. Maybe when this gets updated, the problem will be resolved?

This isn't working for me either, I have the same problem.

I've changed my Gamertag before yes, but I'm signed out of Windows Live and it keeps saying there is no data, it won't even let me sign in to Live via Rock Bands site.

I'm from United Kingdom if it helps, just got the game now.

I'm also having this problem and am not happy at all.Thank God I'm not the only one.I've NEVER changed my gamertag since I first got my machine.Really hoping this is fixed ASAP as so far I really am getting quite unimpressed with the EU release for many reasons.

I just tried again and it linked, I signed into Windows Live Messenger on Xbox and retried and it seemed to work.

My problems solved.

Same problem here. Never changed my GT or anything like that. Recently used the GTA4 linking service with no problem (except for their slowly updating servers!) and can see that I've played RB when I view xbox.com signed into the same Live account. Sending email.

Same problem here, nothing seems to be working.. I sent an email yesterday but no reply to that.. Maybe is it coz I live in the Netherlands?

Just done that. I've never changed my gamertag, done everything the page says to do and still no linking. Shame really, the GH3 one worked a treat ;)

Same here to :( really surprised this hasn't been sorted by HMX, usually things like this are fix easily but seems to be causing a large amount of users problems. :(

Wrote an Email to the support adress from this tread.
I have the European Version of Rockband, what about the others here with the same problem? Maybe it´s a problem only with the new released PAL Version?

Please fix this, want to have community features to!

I'm another Englander experiencing the gamertag linking problem, doesn't affect me massively but it would be nice to have it working properly;)

It's never been changed, but it was migrated from the Original Xbox when I got my 360.

Looks like its happening to nearly everyone on the PAL release. We wait ages, get charged more and the site doesnt work. :(

I assumed it was a PAL problem when I got it, then found an old thread about it and assumed it wasn't... but now all the PAL people are in here too so who knows!

Yes, I have the same problem, but my mate didn't. He's had the game since Friday and linked his account today. I just got the game today. How long has everyone else been playing, could it just take a while for the stats on the Gamertag to update?

Interesting, and your friend has a European copy of the game?

I've been playing, in nearly every mode, connected to Live and getting achievements since Saturday, and still can't link today. I'll try again tomorrow since that'll be as many days as your friend.

Other games I've linked like GTA4 worked straight away (the site was then terrible and didn't update properly, but the link worked). Sites like 360voice.com and mygamercard.net show that I've played Rock Band and got achievements in it.

It took me a day or two to manage to link my account; then it finally linked and said something like "congratulations your account is linked" or somesuch; however, that was at least two days ago, and there's still no actual data updating on my profile. In fact, I'm not even sure what should be updating if anything; point being, not being able to link an account doesn't seem to mean anyone's actually missing out on much. There are no online scores for each song/difficulty like there are with Guitar Hero III, for example. Disappointing.

I, too seem to have a problem with my account linking:
I succeded in linking my Gamertag to my account BUT my details doesn't seem to update: I only see my first band and not the second one, I created a new character to check and he doesn't appear here...
And it seems my score too has not been updated.

Hope it will soon work.

Just wanted to add my 2cents - UK PAL gamer, can't link my tag. Been playing all weekend, getting achievements solo and band mode. Mailed Harmonix as instructed - just wait and I see I suppose.

Success.. I've had the same problem as you guys since friday.. it just didn't want to link my account to my gamertag..

I was rocking on the drums when i decided to try again.. and it failed, as usual.. anyways.. i played a couple more songs and tried again.. still the same.. i tried this 3-4 times during my 20 song streak until i thought that it could be because i was already in the game playing.. so i quit the game, and just sat there on the dashboard, and then i tried again.. SUCCESS!

Try linking from the dashboard.. it worked for me.. hopefully it will work for you as well.. :)

And mine worked this morning.

My suggestion to anyone else having problems: wait 4 complete days from when you first played, and then try again.

Either that or they quietly reacted to my email and fixed my account somehow.

(And my suggestion to anyone in charge reading this: if you can confirm that there is a 4 day delay before you can link, or if you can confirm we need to email support before it will work if we've seen an error, then just pop that in the linking instructions or in the error message please!)

Sorry for the delayed reply, folks. The servers seem to be getting pretty hammered with the influx of new gamers so please be patient and you should be able to connect.
