PSN:I looking to compile a list of about 20 or so PS3 Rockband users to create a group of friends to create online groups with. Nothing better then seeing you friends list full of people online playing RockBand:

What I like to be able to do is send chat invite/ps3 message invites to mutiple players, setup who is playing what instrument, what songs you would like to play, what levels, etc. Have leader compile list and then all can jam. All other user could do the same.

All 20 PS3 users would have same list players as their friends.

Question, How many friends can be in a PS3 chat room at one time?
If you would like to be a part of the group, let me know and I'll compile the list.

Rules:
Players will compete in Dual-Score, 3 songs per round. Person who wins 2 of the 3 songs wins and advances to next round. (scores very on song so total score wouldn't work well)


Round 1
*16 players (??)- Assigned matches random
*Match will be played during specific week. leader will be assigned to match, leader will be responsible for setting up date/time the match will be played with the one he/she competing with.
*Songs -
1. In Bloom - Nirvana
2. Learning To Fly - Foo Fighters
3. ForePlay/Long Time - Boston
*Leader will record score and winner of all 3 songs. play all three even if winner wins 1st two. scores will be used to seed 2nd round. Also may not be able to get 16 players or have more, if not highest scoring losers can advance to next round to to make bracket even 8. If we only have 14 player then 1 loser with highest score will advance to make round 2 even, etc.

Note: We can start new tourney thread to post results and stuff. I put rules and info in 1st post

Round 2 -
8 players - Seeded by 1st round scores
* Matches will be played during week after 1st round ends. Give time for leaders to schedule match with their competition.
* Player who wins two songs wins and advances
* Leader records scores so we can seed next round

nice, combo - guitar, drums, mic added. I'll work on expert bass, maybe we'll hit some gold stars, bass about best I can help you guys on right now. Done it a couple of time on-line but not a lot sure some other will come on board that will help with pulling off consecutive gold stars.

Hey down the road will schedule some on-line tournaments and stuff within the group. (Honor system scoring on-line). Have 3 or 4 groups of 4 go and play specific setlist of 3 songs - report back there scores, will try to work stuff like that out.

Cool, great but the user name has me worried!, not looking forward to a lot of fail (crash) sounds. I think this should work a lot better then random invites or just forming band of 4 members. Don't have to worry as much about scheduling when people are going to be on, learn who's what level, Set up competitions, tournaments, etc.

Be cool playing with some who you know are struggling on a specific song then two week later you see them nail it. should be fun.

Between your and some of the other the other members profile looks like I going to end up with nick name "Coat Tails". Anyway playing or dueling with expert level helps me a lot, more fun then practice mode and the song doesn't fail. I gold starred a couple of songs on line on bass but I got to work on the fast repeating notes and hammer on/off's.

Hey, look at the bright side, Now you can sympathize with the European folks. I would be going nuts, I will tell you I haven't been able to play but a couple of hour this week, just a lot going on but even that's drive me crazy, I know it must be killn you. At less your seeing progress.

It's cool. Not as in depth, I'm sure, as WSOP 2008. But for $10 you can't go wrong. Always plenty of people playing online. I'll probably still play some when I get the PS3 fixed, cause I like poker.

Yea it was a blast, very much appreciate you hang in there with me. I was a little late back from lunch but it was fun. I forgot who that was drumming on the last session but he was good.
I was terrible. I'm one of those if I don't play for awhile it takes time to get my rhythm back. I couldn't time the slow notes or double fast notes. When we hooked up I was working on Flirting W/ Disaster on hard. Only getting about 40% before I bombed out, last time I left off I was getting to 70% it think.

Oh on the thrash pack I not sure: I'll have to preview on youtube and see. I don't know any of the songs. I'm still working on beating original set-list, but some of the downloads I can't resist. We'll have to do the Metallic songs next time, or dual so I can work on them, they kick my butt.

Sorry I didn't sent invites to all the new players last night. This thread is working to good. I got on about 6:30 and had about 6 friends on line playing Rock Band. Sent a message to all stating I'm on Guitar and Mic asking if anyone wants to play. Got about 5 responses:

That was my daughter on mic, she's just getting on expert but played with someone last night that was telling her to move up to expert, she nail 5 strait songs in the mid 90%'s. My not be Kinetic level, but may be able to gold star with you in full band.

What I like to be able to do is send chat invite/ps3 message invites to mutiple players, setup who is playing what instrument, what songs you would like to play, what levels, etc. Have leader compile list and then all can jam. All other user could do the same.

All 20 PS3 users would have same list players as their friends.

Question, How many friends can be in a PS3 chat room at one time?

CaptainBackSlap plays expert on guitar/bass. We gold starred yesterday finally. I dont if he does drums or vocals, ill ask later. He has about half the DLC.

Zane528 can play on expert on every instrument, not sure about vocals. He has all DLC also.

Zeleii can play expert on drums, guitar, and bass. He has all DLC, but his PS3 broke so he is out for a couple weeks. Youtube his vids. Check them out. He is good.

Kinetic: has most DLC and plays experts on vocals and her stats says she can play h/x on guitar/bass.

So far of the 5 or so players I've added from this group, I cant conect to 3 of them. Is anyone else having issues connecting to other players? I've heard it has to do with each players NAT (some internet connection crap) and I've recently heard that there are 2 different versions of the game which also might be responsible. If anyone has any info on this I would love to hear it.

On the other, the fill comes after 3 series of grey notes. There is/was a thread on here about it, and i've seen it myself. as for the connection prob, I'm a NAT 2 so I just cant figure it out. Has me completely pissed off tho. :mad:

When you get an invite go to community select invites and continue through there, then select contine after you pick your person or I think its join band..yeah select join band and then you will be directed to join the band of whom ever invited you.

And just another thing, I think it's a little annoying/misleading when somebody has a / next to their difficulty, like if someone says they're a h/x on guitar. You're either hard or expert.

If you can beat every song on hard but only like 10-15-20-whatever on expert, then you should list hard because that's what you've beaten every song on. If you've beaten every song except maybe the last tier on expert, then you can probably list expert.

As someone who can beat every song on expert guitar, if i'm playing for fun, then i don't mind, but if i'm playing for score/competitiveness, then playing with a drummer/bassist that's not on expert slows the note chart down (as i'm sure most of you know)

i've read through the whole thread and i see this "Pan!c" band sort of thing. that's all well and good, i have a band of my own -- i'm just looking for other really good players to jam with and have fun. even if your friend list is full, trust me, you'll want to add me for guitar/bass/vocals (i look forward to playing with some of you and leading by example)

Gold Stars on about 50+ of the 85 songs (including DLC) for guitar, and Gold Stars on 10+ vocals and will be ranked in the top 100 by vocals score (like 175 or something right now) once i get around to finally singing the stupid bonus songs (and thus, that's why my vocal career score should be much higher, b/c i haven't even sang the bonus songs yet and already ranked extremely high)

I worked on drums some, I pulled a taller chair out and man that helped a lot. I was nailing the bass notes, doubles. I'm in a funk with the guitar, so I played drums. Now I can only up-strum all the time, lost my rythem on the down strum.

I'm still not particularly good at the crazy shredding songs like Ride the Lightning, and....*shudder* Thrasher, but I'm slowly working my way up to that level, most other songs I tend to do better at, I think I'm currently ranked Second or Third best for Crushcrushcrush on Guitar (That song is so much fun to play), and anything else I'll range from top 50 to like....1000 lol.

You did really well yourself, it's hard to find good consistent players online to jam with, so I was happy :D

That is what I did I got a visa gift card from walgreens;, then went online to the cards website and registered the card in my name and address. Then I went the Playstation Store online, not on PS3, and updated billing info.

Jeez sorry guys, I totally forgot this thread even existed since the first couple pages where I posted. I was wondering why a bunch of my friends had PAN!C as their comment and why I was getting new friend invites out of nowhere.

I'll try to pay more attention now, I got the voice chat going last night with munky but it doesn't work with some people. Also, Rockgod I'm very sorry I keep missing you. It sounds like you're a pretty good player and I'd love to play sometime.

I'd love to play with any of you anytime actually...If I don't accept, I either stepped away from the TV or I'm already in a band, nothing personal. I usually don't get on until 9pm pacific time, sometimes a little sooner so please keep that in mind. If I didn't have 2 kids, job etc. I would probably be playing all day long.

If anyone wants to play all expert and go for some gold stars, I would love to be your vocalist. There are some songs I'm not the best at but many I can nail pretty well. Munky playing 'say it aint so' and 'welcome home' so many times has improved me on those a bit :D (although still not great at those).

I'm not done with the expert vocal tour yet because I haven't had enough time to do it, but I've gold starred 8 or 9 songs so far plus quite a few with online bands. I think I'm up to #75 or so after doing a few more songs last night (got golds on pleasure, flirting with disaster, and orange crush yeah!)

If people don't care about playing all expert, I'd love to play some drums. I had some wrist problems which was preventing me from playing but I think it's starting to feel good enough that I can play regularly without pain. I still will probably limit my sessions to not be too long though.

I'm also feeling good about the drums because I finally beat Run to the Hills on hard to finish hard tour this weekend and last night I got 2 more drum golds so I'm up to 4 and also up to orange crush on expert. So yeah I play on hard for some songs and expert for others depending on the song. I'm definitely getting better after that injury sidelined me for a while.

I also have all the DLC except the thrash pack.

If you really want to coordinate and want a list of expert songs I can normally get 98% or higher on expert vocals, I have one made up (it's growing, probably 50 songs now, still have to sing some of them yet :))I can send one to you on your account here, just send me a pm. I started keeping track of that just for when I'm the leader and we're trying for golds but I actually like when other people are the leader because I'm chronically indecisive. So if we're trying for gold stars, i guess it helps to know if i really suck at something because for vocals it seems that different people are good at different songs.

then my brother went to work, so rockgod and i had about 6 or so songs switching off expert guitar/bass together and easily 5 starred every single one and were both consistently 98+% with an exception or two. We killed don't fear the reaper, foreplay/longtime, cherub rock, ballroom blitz, etc. etc. then he got on drums and we jammed on won't get fooled again and here it goes again

that's the first time i've found someone as good as i am at guitar playing online, so rockgod, i'm glad i met ya, and good playin with ya dude. between the 2 of us when we're warmed up, that's gold stars waitin to happen

hey, thanks for the props. when we first started, my mic was fine when i got 98% on flirtin with disaster, but then we did tom sawyer and my mic was going crazy with variation, so it might be busted for all i know, b/c i got 84% vocals on tom sawyer and i usually get 94-96%.

yea, but for real, i watch a bunch of rock band videos (guitar and drums) on youtube, and i can count the # of drummers better than my bro on 1 hand. he never even practices either or i think he'd be much better, but yea, that's why he and i are ranked #10 for our band.

i had to drive my brother to work and it was actually kind of cold out, so when i came back home and got right back on to play with you and i think the first song we did was cherub rock, and i've FCed that song, but i think i got like 97% b/c my hands were still cold that it just felt weird not being warmed up at all. oh, not to mention that when we played reptilia with my bro, i only missed 1 note and it was b/c my starpower absolutely wouldn't activate, so i tried to hit 'select' to auto start the starpower and missed a note b/c of it

well for drums, depending on the song, you can just activate your OD as soon as you get it, other songs require you to take an optimal path, meaning skipping a few fills, it gets complicated, but I've gold star about the first 3 tiers, except for bowie, i dont know what else they want me to do with that song lol, and a few here in there in the other tiers

Yeah I have done that already. I did it today when I was playing with rockgod. We gold starred two songs.

so, for an update, my brother and i were just on jamming with rockgod and munky. i took the expert vox, my bro was on expert drums, and rockgod and munky switching off between guitar/bass.

my bro wanted to show them some of his skills, so we started out with 2 last tier drum songs, and as a band we 5 starred flirtin' with disaster pretty easily and had 1.2 million. Highlights were 98&#37; vocals and 96% drums, though FwD is not an easy bass part, so don't sweat it munky.

After FwD, we got into Won't Get Fooled Again, the very last drum song on the solo tour, and we 5 starred that as a band pretty easily as well up around 1.45-1.5 million points. Munky had lead guitar and had 97%, rockgod with 99% on bass. All 4 were 92+% (that stuff is hard to sing, too)

For the finale, we dabbled in some Green Grass and High Tides. rockgod was on lead guitar and i don't blame munky for taking hard bass. expert bass on this song is a *****, and even though I've done it a few times before, i don't look forward to it. Anyway, ANOTHER 5 star for us, even on the song described by some as "the devil". My bro led the way with 99% on drums (you can't top that on this song), and I had i think 94% vocals. Stellar work by the guitar/bass as well, as it was a good 5 star for the band.

Well, i was playing for about 6 or so hours today, and I think i might have to take care of some stuff later tonight, but I should be on Wednesday night, and pretty much all of Thursday.

Since this is also an accomplishments thread now, I'm happy to report we got golds on Tom Sawyer, Franklin's Tower, Sex Type Thing, and Time We Had with 2 guitars and vocals. I think we got it on last train to clarksville too but I don't remember. We also managed to NOT get one on orange crush despite scores of 99 99 and 99 (I blame myself for stupid od activations...actually I always blame myself when I get less than 100 because vocals is the easiest instrument on most songs).

Also who's up for thursday Boston DLC action? I'm going to listen to these songs a lot and get prepped.

I really want to play some bass sometime online anyway...I figure I can play most songs on hard guitar so I can probably do a fair amount on expert bass. It's just so boring to play bass by yourself because there is no solo tour so I hardly ever do it.

Sometimes I do hard/hard with vocals/bass by myself but that is a little bit tricky to focus on my playing as my attention is split. The only song I failed so far doing that is number of the beast ... The very first mystery setlist in my tour they gave me ride the lightning and number of the beast back to back. Talk about excessive punishment...especially for the very first venue!!!

haha, my brother wouldn't have died. it was pretty funny actually. he had like 1/3 health during that long organ piece before it kicks in just a drums hard part and we're sitting there waiting and we see you have OD and my bro goes "i dont need it, but you think he'll activate his OD to help me out?" and i was like "maybe. we'll see how attentive he is" and you did active your OD, so props to you for being a team player. yo, just youtube won't get fooled again expert drums though and you'll appreciate how hard it is to get like 94-95% or whatever my bro got on drums for that song.

yea, sorry for all last tier songs. i knew i only had about 20 minutes left to play, so i let my bro pick, and he was in the mood for some challenging band stuff. i never played any of the guitar hero games, so the last tier songs (GGaHT and FwD, that is) gave me some difficulty when i got there. even on highway star, i need OD to make it through...not the really fast triples but the quick, consecutive notes like G, G, Y, Y, O, O, B, B, G, G, O, O that go on for a good 20-25 seconds...it's just really weird and i hate that part.

i may not be able to get on tomorrow, but i'll definitely be on like all day thursday, not only b/c of the Boston pack, but b/c i'll be home. so like 10 or 11 am to 6 pm thursday.

it was good playin with ya for the first time, and i look forward to playing with more of you guys in the future.

2 things that would make this whole process infinitely easier: 1) voice chat (obviously), and 2) being able to actually answer a message from someone while you're at a 'make band screen'. for example, if i tell someone i'm gonna make a band quickplay and i'll send the invite and then while i'm waiting for them i see a message from them, i have to go all the way out to the community screen and check my messages just to see what they said. you should be able to hold the PS button and check/send messages.

Home = PSN "FREE" online community like SIMS mixed with XBox live. Users will have person they create with appartment. Town will have games like pool, chess you can meet people. Games (not all) will have their own rooms for player to meet. One game going to have war room where teams can setup stratagy on maps of games on a sandbox, stuff like that. Aceivement will be displayed in apartments. Like rockband could setup where you get gold, plat records to display in your apartment.

I agree, different levels. Hard and expert groups. some are expert drummer but may want to give hard guitar a try. More could play at their level. Don't think we have many meduim players.
Agree on Total Score, but keep in mind if it's one player win by close score on two songs yet get blown out on 3rd song he may lose.

I had a chance to play with Geo last night, I believe he had his neighbour over as well who was on Bass, picked Little Sister first, and I was absolutely destroyed, only got 87% on it. I probably should've warmed up first lol.

We did however Gold Star El Scorcho right after that, so that was cool.

Afterwards I did some score duel with Geo's neighbour in Expert, pretty solid player, just needs to work on the Overdrive paths a bit more :)

yea i was in the background eating my ass off screamin at him like NO dont activate it yet lol, hes still learning guitar parts more n more each day, and the weird part, hes the best bass player i have, well thats because everyone of my friends just wants to hit the guitar, they find bass too boring, thank god for that guy lol. I'm bout to hit it up now, I'm just in a trance with this Queen performance in Montreal, they need Queen in Rock Band fast
