View Full Version : Is the "save" feature buggy for anyone else?

We have countless problems saving in Rock Band. Last night a couple friends tried to create characters. That worked fine until we shut the game off after playing for a while. Turning it back on later to play some more, we found their characters were gone. They recreated them, we played some more, then backed all the way out to the main menu and shut down the Xbox. Their stuff failed to save again!! They created their characters again, and this time things seems to be saving correctly.

That isn't even the worst part. When playing in my band, the progress we make sometimes gets saved and sometimes doesn't. Last night we played a set on hard, and gained 64,000 fans. This morning when playing again, all those fans are gone, and in fact other fans we had are also gone. The set list we played looks as if we never played it.

And lastly, updates to the rock server seem buggy as well. Sometimes my band shows up on the list and sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea how that saving works either. Does anyone else have these issues? I have a 20GB Xbox with about 7GB free, so I know it isn't a space issue.

So how does saving work in Rock Band, and why is it so sporadic? Is there anything we can do to "force" it to save?

I'd really hate to play the endless setlist and then not get credit for it...

Are you by any chance using the Unlock All Songs cheat code? If you are, that cheat disables all saving until the game is restarted.

Crap, you know what... you must be right. Sometimes we do turn that on just so folks can play. After they are done, me and my band mates jump in and continue our world tour. This is why things don't save. Shoot. Ok, then my question is how do I turn that "off" after using it? I suppose I need to turn the XBox off then on, or perhaps just exiting to the dashboard is enough?

Thanks for the tip, I am sure that is the case!

I would imagine that just going back to the Dashboard and restarting the game would be enough, but it wouldn't hurt to reboot the whole thing. Only takes a few seconds longer.

And in order to not have to do that anymore, just play any solo tour on any instrument at Medium or higher through to the end, and that'll unlock all of the songs for Quickplay.
