Sorry to post two heavy metal posts consecutively but i was curious that if they did put Heavy Metal songs in anyone have any ideas on how they would handle the singing? I guess hopefully they would just have you grunting along with the music but for some reason i dont believe thats going to happen. maybe im answering my own question on if they will have any heavy metal songs in the game haha but anyways any ideas?

I would think you could tell if the growl is low enough or if your scream is high enough. What you probably can't tell is what exact words the person is saying.

It depends on what type of metal you're talking about.

They could have thrash metal, it should be able to pickup singing like Tom Araya (Slayer).
But I wouldn't expect a Cannibal Corpse song to sing to.

Tone and pitch it probably works, but because this game also picks up on vowels and consonants, it would be too hard to judge the growling style and such.

I can see metal songs where the singer can actually sing, but it would be DLC mainly.

Metallica is 'heavy metal' and they don't have growling vocals. I belive you mean death/black metal or even nu-metal. Alot of things can be classified under the genre of 'heavy metal'.

Anyway, I'd definately like to see some hardcore-growling songs AS DLC. 1. To spare all the vocally weak. 2. To unleash the beast within. :)

All That Remains would be freaking awesome, I'd suggest the Air That I Breathe by them, or even This Calling.

It actually could work, if done correctly, just tweak a few things with the pitch detection, probably.

If this guy can "sing" like this, then you should be able to pull off anything.
Even though this guy sux ass, I'm sure it was on Easy.
