View Full Version : Two Ideas... hopefully you guys like em.

Many people complain about music games like RB or GH not teaching you how to play the real music, and find the game inferior for this. I have an idea that will shut them up.

With each song you unlock, you unlock the sheet music for it as well (or guitar tabs).

You would get the sheet music for the vocals, complete with lyrics. You would also get sheet music for the drums, giving you the time signature and the beats.

You would also unlock the guitar tabs for lead guitar and bass (and rhythm, if that is an option for the song), including a visual representation of which way to fret and which string(s) to strum.

Here's the second idea. I'm sure this has probably been suggested before...

Instrument-specific campaigns. I'm pretty sure that some songs would, for example, be much harder on drums than any other instrmuent. Same for vocals, guitar, and bass.

What do you guys think?

Great ideas, especially the 2nd one!

Although, under the licensing contracts they have to use the songs in the game, I don't think they have the rights to dish out actual sheet music. That would be more money they'd have to spend.
It's good thinking though (even though I still like to pretend to play)

But instrument specific campaign only makes sense. I wouldn't doubt that they've already done it anyway.

I thought they already announced seperate campaigns with restructured setlists?

Maybe I'm dreaming about it.. but I do remember there being a big thread about it in the past.

I've seen it in various threads. Just not sure if it was ever confirmed.
But like I said, it wouldn't make sense not to do it.

There kind of are already instrument-specific campaigns. Well, for guitar, vocals, and drums.

And if that isn't actually true (which I am quite sure it is), if you want a guitar-specific campaign go get Guitar Hero III, vocal-specific -> Karaoke Revolution or SingStar, and for a mediocre drum-campaign Donkey Konga (which is hella fun if you haven't played it).

Edit: Yeah, forgot to say it, but cool idea with the whole sheet music thing. That'd be schweet.

I think you misunderstood. He knows there are the campaigns, I believe he meant specific Song Setlists for each campaign.

I actually meant if there is very little, lets say, guitar in a song, it will not appear in the guitar campaign, but available in mulitplayer and all other campaigns.

And of course this would only work if there were enough songs to spare.

Very cool ideas, but we'd need many more than 40 songs.

You're probably right. I remember people were saying before that something like Moby Dick by Led Zepplin should be the encore, or towards the end of the Drum campaign.

What they'll do is probably just rearrange the current songs. Some may seem out of place, but what can ya do?

I think it has been discussed by HMX that the single player song progressions will be instrument specific. So Won't Get Fooled Again will be near the end of the drum campaign, near the beginning of the guitar campaign (for example).

That makes sense.

I just wouldn't expect a whole new setlist for each campaign.
