View Full Version : DLC Game

I was thinking about a game. Here it is.

What if Harmonix this week were to let the general Rock Band fan base decide what the DLC would be this week, and would let us vote what we would want to see out. This is not a speculation thread or the what not, this thread is to see what people would want out of the leaked list.

I have put together some options

Nevermind, the full album download
Who's Next, the full album download
The Metal Pack - Supernaut by Black Sabbath, Wrathchild by Iron Maiden(Hopefulla master) and Fuel by Metallica
Classic Rock Singles - Message in a Bottle by The Police, Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Shooting Star by Bad Company
Or randon TBA/Leaked singles - Shadow World by The Haunted, Still Alive by GLaDOS and Misery Business by Paramore.

Now if this thread becomes a war over peoples musical tastes and such I will vouch for the thread to be closed immediatly, so please. Keep this civil.

My vote would be for the Nevermind album.

Reason being that it was this very album that pretty much sparked my love of music and would bring back some great memories.'

Part of me wants to say Metal Pack, but the Thrash Pack has quelled my metal lust for the time being, and i want to have something to look forward to in that genre.

As much as I love classic rock, i have plenty of Police songs already and do not necessarily want anymore, though the other 2 would be automatic pick-ups.

Oh and i cant wait for Still Alive to be available.. crap this isnt as easy as i thought.

But gonna stick with Nevermind as my final answer Regis.

The problem with the poll is that there is so much on the leaked list that is random songs from here and there, that it's kind of hard to pick an option that umbrellas so many songs.

I voted for the Metal Pack, because I want to give Harmonix one last chance when it comes to Iron Maiden, if Wrathchild isn't a cover my life will be complete.

Wish I had an option for picking more than 1 on this Poll. Think I would like to see any of those. Although not sure about the TBA/Leaked Singles. I did like the other Paramore song though.

ID say the classic rock pack, HMX wouldnt release two weeks of metal, and I'd expect an announcement before any albums are released

I think the announcement would be called "Friday afternoon." :)

Anyways, I'd vote for the Classic Rock pack, followed by Who's Next.

Well the Metal Pack is scheduled for release on the 25, so we'll have to wait and see. Even if I don't get my Wratchild, we would at least be getting somethign I enjoy, hopefully Still Alive so I can crap my GLaDOS pajamas, lol

We can't really say that it's "scheduled" for the 25th based on the OXM mag list, seeing how most of those dates changed, but it'd be quite interesting to see if that would be the ONLY release on there that was correct.

Who's Next is probably not done yet, so I'd rule that one out (though HMX is full of surprises!) for now...

I'll probably vote for the Classic Rock Pack, simply because many people have been anticipating that release, and I would like to get many of the stuff we know is scheduled to be released out of the way simply because I like the suspense and surprise that Fridays bring... :o

I'm looking forward most to Supernaut, so I'm hoping it's the metal pack that's next week. I doubt it though, seeing as they just released thrash metal this week, I don't think they'd go with metal (even different subgenres) two weeks in a row. My bet is the Classic Rock Pack (is this even a pack? I thought it'd be just singles).

Classic Rock. I have been listening to Simple Man and practicing on real guitar in anticipation. Love that song. Will pick up the other two as well as they are both good songs.

I'd be happy with any of those, but I'm looking forward to Who's Next for drumming.

I voted for Who's Next mostly because I'm ready for a full album, and I want to act like Keith, Pete, Roger, and John. I really want Nevermind and the classic rock pack as well.

that and Simple man are my most wanted under whos next. Supernaut looks like soo much fun and the guitar riff is awsome. But I am not buying anything else that week. sry just not a metal fan. but i def wouldent put my money on it because we just got metal this week

Classic Rock singles first (must...have...SIMPLE MAN!!!)
Who's Next or leaked tracks tied for second. But only if the leaked tracks are Pinball Wizard and the Stones songs!

Oh, and as for the OP's avatar- Geddy Lee pretty much owns the copyright to awesomeness.

Damn straight, lol. Geddy Lee is awesome so is Rush. Honestly, just about anything this week will make me happy, but I love Maiden, they have a great Bassist and I play Bass so I want Maiden, lol

Argh, this is a tough one since I'd love for either Who's Next or the Metal Pack to be out next week. Personally, I'd rather have the metal pack this week since all of those songs seem like they'd be a blast to play and I really like Maiden... plus, the bass line is awesome. Plus, it's D'Anno-era Maiden, which I'm pretty excited about. Plus, although I'm ready for "Who's Next", I'm not sure my wallet is :(

I have a feeling we'd get either the Classic Rock Pack or a surprise pack though and I'd be perfectly happy with either.

=OFF TOPIC=
I play guitar, but I've been interested in trying bass for quite a while now. It's a tough decision to decide between my dream bass (Geddy Lee signature) and my dream guitar (Les Paul Black Beauty.) Both are around the same price range from my research, so it's going to be a tough one. My Squire Stratocaster is fine, but after a while, I need a change....

=ON TOPIC=
Same here. I'd be happy with any of the choices listed. The last 2 weeks just haven't been for me, so pretty much any of those would make me use some of the Xbox Points I bought hoping the classic rock singles would be as OXM projected.

Regardless if it is Nevermind, Who's Next, Classic, or Metal Pack, I will probably download all of it. I plan on getting all of the above DLC. No preference so I don't care what order it comes in.

Hey guys read this official announcement from HMXSean:

As an apology for our lateness in releasing downloadable content news late two weeks ago, we've decided to announce the next three weeks of downloadable content early:

Earache Thrash Pack 02

Earache Thrash Pack 03

Earache Thrash Pack 04

Enjoy!

I kid, I kid. :p

I voted for random singles.

I'm not at all sure what you're asking me. This nick is a portmanteau of "parody" and "paradigm". I've been using it regularly online for about 10 years.

I have been, and will continue, nerdraging until Still Alive comes out. IwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwant IwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwantIwant

Okay, now that I'm done acting like an immature 4th grader (i.e. half of the Halo 3 online userbase). The other singles look good too. I could go for Message in a Bottle or Simple Man.
