I just convinced my wife to let me rearranged my living room to give us "more room", I told her why after I was finished.:D She just rolled her eyes and smiled.

I am also pretty psyched since I pre-ordered RB today, once I get RB I am going to move the XB360 from my brother's messy bedroom to the clean living room. Hopefully my parents will see us having fun and maybe join in on the game. (my mom loves to sing, so I might give her the mic..... and I may accidentally have her sing Enter Sandman. That ought to be fun lol)

>>edit Motley I just finished watching your video in your sig, I loved that one better than the first one I saw! Those are some great fight scenes, I don't think I'll ever look at Jesus the same way again! lmao

I have started on the wife about rearranging our room (where my video games are) and she is not happy about it. at least i have a few more months. I will break her down eventually. (although i still haven't told how much it costs or that i will be buying GHIII with a new guitar)

I haven't done anything as far as making more room, yet probably won't either since I have the most room now that I will have. Also I'm just living life like its a regular day since it's still 3 months ago, it would be more appropriate to ask this question a few weeks before it gets released, but if you're excited you're excited

Ive bought a PS3 and new HD TV (only 720P/1080i :( )

Gonna get rid of the futon i currently have out here and replace it with some little couch things. Gonna buy myself a cool little strobe light that flashes to the beat (or just loud noises, but what the hell, theyre still awesome) plus some other coloured moving lights.

A smoke machine would be a nice touch but that would be pushing it.

Ive already started inviting ppl to my rock band party too. 20 or so friends havin a few drinks and rockin out with some crazy cool lighting... gonna be sweet.

Nick, dude, smoke machine=awesome! Go to Wal-Mart around Halloween and look in their seasonal stuff, they have a fog machine on the cheap! We got one last year the day of halloween, but then realized we forgot the fluid. and... haven't used it since. but still!

Hmm... I guess I'm just trying to get a job so I can afford it. And, y'know, pay rent at the same time so i have somewhere TO play it. My wife is sick and freakin' tired of hearing about RB, her brother and I talk about it non-stop. So. I'm doing what I can to not talk about it with her around, and if I do, mention things that she'll like (like "Creep" being included).

Office is already rearranged some time ago, that's where we've got the compys and the games, although it'll be a squeeze to get everything in here still. Thank god my tv's on wheels. :D

Other than that, just practicing... My bro-in-law beat Freebird last week when he was here... so now I guess i have to play that damned song until i beat it too.

I'm so crashing sa_nick's parties.

Anyways, I just bought a 360 and I've convinced my wife to move the coffee table to the other room to make room for RB (haven't done it yet, but will be before it's released).

Trying to figure out how everything will fit.

For a 4 bedroom 3 floor house we have a quite small living room and a lot of the space is taken up by a 2 x 4 foot parrot cage. Can't move the parrot out tho as she is part of the family now and she enjoys being around everyone all the time

Just prior to GH2 360 I purchased an xbox (first console purchase since original 8-bit nintendo) and a home stereo setup.

Fortunately, all of that will suffice for Rock Band as well. The only additional thing I will need is a XBL subscription for online play.

PsycoCheerio
08-28-2007, 04:57 PM
First went and got a 32" HDTV so that i can play with my buddies all at once...
Then i had to go get a X360...
Got me some XBL today...
Next step is rearranging my tiny room...gonna be a tough one since my TV sits on a little desk with my computer and the 360...i figure it'll kill one day of waiting, moving the whole room around and adding a more RB feel to my room...

Yeah, a couple of people have suggested this. The problem is I'm in Australia and we have no halloween or wal-mart, lol.

Chances are I wont be able to afford it, it's gonna cost me about $375-$400 to import RB as it is... plus I'm still paying off the new TV and want a good sound system. Yeah, I'm doomed.

lol. I'll add that I'm unemployed... that may cause some minor problems.

That's awesome! I get that look everytime I start ranting about some new RB announcement.

Anyway, I'm trying to hold onto the MS points I have now while hoping to find a deal on them for all the DLC I plan on buying. Otherwise, saving money and playing more GHII on 360 and Rock the 80's on PS2.

I'll be using a giant crane to move my Playstation 3 away from the TV. That should buy me a few dozen square feet of floor space.

> I've put together a playlist with each announced song, buying the ones I didn't already have (about 12 of them) off of iTunes. (btw - the Rockaway Beach replacement irked me for this reason...2 bucks on the Ramones is not my idea of money well spent.)

I don't know what to do about my living room set-up, very narrow and not really any other options. I think if I do have a large group of people over to play, I can at least move the couch around so we can get the 'band' further back from the TV.

Well, I just purchased and sweet sweet 60" sony sxrd that takes up most of my living room wall now lol. I'm either going to have to get rid of the coffee table (which I just bought a few month ago :-| ) or move it somewhere else... The drums and singer will probably be in front of the couch while the guitar and bass will be behind. This should hopefully suffice for the set-up.

I've also been practicing some drumming techniques... Probably overkill but whatever. I've picked up drum sticks MAYBE twice in my life so this is gonna kick my ass and I'm pretty sure I lack rhythm... Nonetheless I'm super excited about the drums. I'll learn from easy and eventually go to expert same as Guitar Hero! Can't wait!

What a great thread!

As for me, I'm taking some cues from this thread and getting a smog and light machine (you can pick them up at Frys cheap!)

My living room is massive and it has couches around the perimeter. I bet I can fit 30 people in that room w/ a full band playing in the center. So, I'm going to plan an "adults only party" and not tell anyone about it except that we'll be serving food and booze via a frozen margarita machine that i rent.

When everyone gets there, I'll be dressed in full rock regalia that fortunately you can go to Hot Topic and stock up on.

First song to set the mood: Cherub Rock. I'll sing. My buddies will rock. Chicks will melt.

I know I posted this somewhere else. But I'll go again:

I'm moving due to my parents divorce. No big deal. So, I decided, why not optimize my new room for Rock Band! So, I'm making my entire bedroom Rock Band oriented. I'm making it so ALL of my stuff is pushed against the wall, leaving a huge gap in the middle of my room for Rock Band stuff!

Also, I'm getting a new TV for Rock Band!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889179003

A Hundai 37" LCD flat-screen HDTV. Set me back another 800 bucks. I wont get it now. The price should drop around Christmas time. I'll mount that on the wall

I'm also getting two or three of those "Gamer Seats". The L-shaped seats that you put on the floor, and are like, ultra comfortable. And a bar stool for the Drums. I know, you're saying "Why dont the guitarists stand!?" ...We're gonna be playing all night, We'll be tired by then..

And I'm working two jobs to get it all! I'm working at a Biomedical Facility. What we do there is look at any medical equipment that either needs to be inspected before going into the hospitals, or repair any equipment that goes haywire.

My other job is at the Guitar Center near my house.

(I'm only 15...this is hella work for me...)

November 6th.

As far as this goes for me, I'm going to have to find some place for storing all these instruments. I currently have two guitars for Guitar Hero, two dance pads for DDR, and two microphones for Singstar crammed into the only unused space in my living room, and even if those were gone, I still wouldn't be able to set the drums there...

Aside from that, I also have to save up $700+ to buy a PS3 and the Rock Band bundle, assuming that these speculations of $200 for the bundle are actually correct.

I also bought a 360 (I've been playing Bioshock ever since) and am going to pre-order the game etc.

We are moving into a house in a month and the entire basement has been set aside for games and music. We will have a stage. We are just trying to figure out the monitor set up like the guys had at PAX.

My husband is in a band so the basement will be a pretty interesting place. One side for real music and the other side for video game music.

Yes we're D.I.N.K's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DINKY) and proud of it.

That sounds awesome and we will demand photos! Our setup was as such-

Two 32" LCD Bravias on downstage corners of stage for the band to play off of and a 60" Plasma at the rear of the stage for the crowd to watch. This was all handled with a 4 way composite video splitter. In the future though I want to use a projector, though as the Plasma is kind of expensive and unwieldy. We also pumped the sound through a mixer to two big speakers on floor stands (I don't remember wattage.)

-buy wardrobes for each musical decade (again, suggestions would be much appreciated)

I'm also playing Karaoke Revolution and/or SingStar for practice at least 5 days a week since I'll be on vocals with my full band

This is fantastic info. I'm sure this will help everyone. We will not be able to get it completely set up for the release of the game because we need to budget for the purchase of the game and the fact that we are moving at the same time.

well im currently not actually living in MY room. i am living in the spare room as my sister, her boyfriend and her 11 month old son are staying in my room for the time being as they have sold their old hause and are waiting for the purchase of the new house to go through.
once i do get back into my room though (which is much bigger, still small though) i will move all of my furniture around and just leave a good bit of space between my bed and my great 19", non-HD, Samsung LCD tv for the band to play, though there will probably just be two of us for a while

According to the main page, looking at instruments, there's supposed to be a mic stand available. Also, since Bowie's going to be on here, I'd suggest getting a huge blonde wig, and that pure white suit he wears in the "Let's Dance!" video. Other than that, I have no ideas yet. :p

Hmm, good to know they're making a stand available. But I love some instant gratification and want to play Karaoke Revolution / SingStar with a stand to kind of get a feel for it. I think I'm gonna get this Hercules stand (http://www.herculesstands.com/mics/MS205B.html) tomorrow.

As for the wig, my avatar is evidence that I have the rocker hair covered.

The white suit, though. I like white suits. I will have to take that into serious consideration. Thanks for the input.

I've downloaded every announced song that I didn't ahve already and made a Rock Band playlist. Also made a Rock Band driving CD made up of my favourite tracks from the announced songs.

Anyone who steps into my room will have Guitar Hero thrust upon them in five minutes. if they haven't played it already, the hookers are always pleasantly surprised!

It's almost like I'm auditioning! I get them addicted and say "Now imagine someone else on drums, and another person screaming into a mic,".

Other than that I'm going to hospitals trying to get them to put me into a chemically induced coma with instructions to wake me up on November 23rd. No luck so far... damn ethics.

Yeah, turns out the trailer is bull****, you can't stand on the windscreen like that. Believe me I learned the hard way.

Hmm...other than moving furniture out of the way in the basement and learning the lyrics to some of the songs (though I will only sing with my friends, because trust me-NO ONE here wants to hear me sing xD), not too much.

Some of the things I've read on this thread are WILD,though. Smoke machines? Strobe lights? THAT's hardcore :)

The Orange Box just got delivered a day early so now I have something to (somewhat) distract me from thinking about Rock Band.

yes...got the wife hooked on GHII...it's the best way to handle it, she padded me with extra 20's when she heard about Rockband coming out. Already got the surround sound for GHII...

Now she wants to buy "the family" a big ass TV for Xmas (read thanksgiving) right around the time that rockband comes out...coincidence? I think not...

Can't wait....:D

Bought a mic stand today and designing my basement to replicate The Rathskeller. Good thing it's unfinished.

Even got the stage and lighting set up.
