2 things:
1. WTH are you saying?
2. This belongs in general chat, as this is for Rock Band only, GH in general.

lol @ g_tar
seriously though, I don't think any more big stuff (if anything at all) will be released until GH3 goes gold, if not starts shipping to vendors. It's smart moves.

I think what he's trying to ask is if we think Harmonix has some feature they're hiding until after GHIII goes gold so they can't steal it... or something.

I know what he means, is this it what will happen. (Which is genius of course)
A lot of people say that GH3 is on the high end right now because they've announced pretty much every piece of gameplay, and practically all their setlist.
HMX is letting them have this glory. They'll keep quiet, spitting out a few songs here and there. GH3 will come out and they'll be all happy.
Then all of a sudden...BAM. Harmonix goes into detail about Creating your own concert, 14 more songs announced, another DLC album announced, etc.
Rock Band would be instantly on the high, then by the time it's released, everyone will jump ship off of GH3 :)
Let's face it, and the truth has been told, that GH3 is incredibly easy this time around, and the majority of people playing it will have it beat within a week.
Rock Band's replay value is just so much higher.

W.E. some weird reviewer said; you can't take it like its 100% true. Because the song charts aren't complete for it yet and the game isn't even out yet
You make it sound like you're HMX's marketing campaigner. Whoever is atm though needs to get sacked. Old GH2 players who are mates get confused when I say HMX aren't making 3. And "Rock Band", only me and one GH2 mate (account name on here: joetaylor) know about.
Rock Band has played its cards. I doubt there will be anything big yet to be confirmed, except the confirmation of the rumour of Band v Band gameplay, and how they'll get it to work online.
Lets say, for arguements sake, we forget there's a core 360. Lets look at a guy deciding between a 360 and a Wii. Now, I can stand there saying how much better it is for games blah blah but the guy-whos-on-the-fence will look at one thing: price. Like we've seen with the GH3 idiots thinking you "have" to sing, they will think I'll "have" to get the full pack for $200+, and then GH3+Guitar for $100 (guesstimates).
I think GH3 will sell better. The brand is there. And, from a business perspective, Activision were smart to let HMX to do their own thing, because I think this is going to be a cult hit. Outside of these forums, say "Rock Band" and gamers will have some memories of an old dude with tatoos of games playing the game and pausing it, but they won't think "OMG WHAT AN AMAZING GAME".
Its sad, but its true.

Anyone who is a big fan of GH (i.e. tons of people) is going to find out about rock band, try it out and realize that it is GH + a lot more.
When you have the marketing muscle of EA behind you plus the fact that people love this kind of game, you don't get just a cult hit.

Well, I was gonna say "well i hope you're right", but no I dont hope you're right.
Supply+Demand
Demand = low, Supply = high, Price = must be lowered

I'm obviously not a marketing manager and I don't claim to be. I was suggesting what could probably happen.
GH people think those things about Rock Band because they simply don't know the details. What I'm saying is, once all details of Rock Band are released, and it's put out to the public, that's when you'll see Rock Band getting bigger.
From what I said before, it's obvious that everyone is getting GH3 first. The brand is more known. And what I was trying to say is, over time Rock Band sales will be bigger.
For your example about the guy thinking of Wii or X360, those are 2 totally different gaming systems. I, myself, was exactly that guy about 6 months ago. I was deciding between a Wii, 360, or Ps3. And what did I do? I went for the 360, not because of price, because of a much better game library, and much better online play. Those 2 consoles aren't even in the same category. Choosing a gaming system is an important decision, and cannot solely be based on price because that would just be stupid.
It's GH noobs that think of Rock Band just as a price. This has been said a thousand friggin times, you don't have to buy every piece of the game.
Rock Band is GH3 and then some. If you choose to get all instruments, you're essentially getting 4 games:
Guitar campaign
Singing campaign
Drum campaign
Band campaign
Show me where in GH3 you can even do a co-op career mode.
As I said and agree with you, GH3 will sell better initially, but I believe once everything is known about Rock Band and it's out there, it will do a hell of a lot better in the long run.

Actually GH3 IS going to have a co-op career mode for Guitar - Bass/Rhythm.

Dude, you dont need to defend it. RB will for defo be better, but I still think people make decision on price more than quality. Thats why a £180 one-version (no core etc.) Wii is selling like... well something that sells well.
But, I thought Bioshock was going to be a System Shock 2 pseudo sequel for the cult of SS2. I got that one wrong... :D

This is obviously total speculation on your part...
but I doubt that the supply of all of the instruments is going to be that high, and I'm guessing the demand is much greater than you are speculating.

My guess is that Harmonix is waiting to see how many full bundle pre orders are made, make just enough for them, then use whatever is left over to satisfy the one instrument at a time people. The full bundle owners are the ones who will be pushing the word of mouth, anyway. Full bundle people get their game, hype it like crazy, when next week's shipment comes in, the people who either didn't know or weren't hyped until their buddy got the bundle go buy the game.
That's where I wish my before GH3 release theory were true. Release the week before, build up hype, then sell the single instrument bundles the same time GH3 came out and really stick it to them... But I can only dream...

Unfortunately, no chance RB will come out before GH3 :(
Just to note: I still am purchasing GH3, I'm not completely biased :D
I just think once I beat GH3, I will immediately move onto Rock Band as soon as it's out.
And if I really got a craving to play some of the GH3 songs I'd switch that on for a few minutes, but I see myself always going back to Rock Band.

This game will probably be big, but GHIII has the brand name behind it, so I don't know if it'll manage to outsell that.

GH 3 is going to sell more than Rock Band. Not by much, but still, more. You can quote me on that.
And if you're an informed gamer, you will buy both. Twice the fun, and GH 3 will hold you over till Rock Band.

Asking here or the GH forums is unfair. You really need to see what some guys on a general gaming forum think...
anyone on IGN forums or something where they can make a thread we can all look at?

Like I said a couple of pages ago, but I think it will be more clear cut than Julio anticipates.
You can quote me on that too :D
