Ok 1st off let me start off by saying I don't have a 360 I have a PS3. Is there a way to get music downloaded for the troops in Iraq? I know of a 4 person rock band in Iraq, they love this game. It really helps them pass the time and makes the down time very manageable. Their access to the internet(s) is pretty limited and they can't access a bunch of sites. I think it has something to do with freedom and the lack they have, but yet are fighting and dieing to give others freedoms.
Ok Off the soap box and back to my question. As you could prob. guess Xbox360 does not work for them and they can not go online to get anything. What I would like to do is find a way to download and burn a DVD for them or perhaps find someone (possibly corporate) that would like to help me out. They have played these songs about 1000 times each and are getting bored with them. I don't want to do anything illegal I just want to help. Is there a way? Is there a possibility of Releasing Rock Band music on DvD's or CD'S?
Help!!
Thanks.

Because of the way the Xbox360 does DRM (Digital Rights Management) This is going to be next to impossible. Here's the scoop:
The Xbox Ties every piece of content you download to both the 360 and your Live account. When you try to use DLC, it does a check to see if you are the owner of the content, and thus allowed to use it. (This is when you see the "checking downloaded content" flag when Rockband starts.)
Check 1 simply checks to see if that song was originally downloaded on the 360 you are currently trying to use it on. If it fails this check, it tries check two.
Check 2 looks on Xbox Live (so you must be connected to the Live service). It looks to see if the account that you are currently logged into Live as is the owner of that content.
If you fail both checks, then you can not access the content. Its that simple.
The problem you will run into is that:
A) Even though you could download the tracks and send them to the troops on an Xbox Memory card, the tracks you download will be connected to your Live account and to your Xbox... so they will fail both DRM checks. So they person you send them to will not be able to use them.
B) If you Create a NEW Live ID, under a new Xbox Profile and then download the tracks and that profile to the memory card and send them; Those tracks will be tied to the FIRST Xbox you downloaded them on. Which means that they must pass Check 2 (the one that requires Xbox Live Access to verify rights to use the content.) I doubt the guys your sending it to you will have an Internet connection they can use to connect to LIVE every time they want to play.... This isn't going to work either.
There really isn't a way to do this with any kind of content on the Xbox Live service.
Before anyone says it... re-downloading the content will not work. This is because the Tracks will be tied to the Xbox they were first downloaded on. So they will still have to pass check 2 every time you want to use the content. Which really is out of the question in this case.
Plus, I'm sure if the Troops had the ability to download tracks.. they would have by now.
NOTE: This kind of thing is TOTALLY possible with the PS3, where you can associate content with up to 5 different machines. So you could just download the songs, put them on some backup media (like a thumb or hard drive) and sent them the tracks. I haven't tried this with a PS3 (I own an Xbox) but it should work. (PS3 Guru help here?)
You also can't transfer DLC between the two systems. That doesn't work for what should be obvious reasons.
Cheers,
