I'm just wondering - How many units of the game have been sold?
What about the stand alone drum systems?
Thanks!

I'm sure the folks at HMX will get right on that for you...

Someone could probably figure that as of the end of February using the NPD numbers. I think the 360 version at least has been in the top 10 each month since release. Then, just update the thread once a month as the new numbers come out.

It sold 750,000 or so units for the first month it was out on the 360. I don't know how much it's sold since then or how many PS3 versions were sold.

That's incredible, if that only 360 numbers, there's no telling how many on the other systems.

Ya, pretty soon we'll be tripping over them in the streets.

This is the last I read, from Jan...
"It also said it saw sales of 1.5 million copies of Rock Band across the Xbox 360, PS3, and PS2 platforms, "
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=17200
I am sure the total sales has risen since then...

last a i read a month or so ago it was 1.5 million copies, but i dunno if that's cumulative or just for a single system.

That's cumulative... the estimated number on each platform, from what I've heard, is about 1.08 million on the 360, 390,000 on the PS3, and about 30,000 on the PS2.

A bit unrelated, I read on IGN that over 6 millions songs have been purchased via DLC. That is incredible in my opinion.

Count me in for 1 to, so that makes 5.
1.5 Million - Cool If my ranking is 1 million that means I'm better then 1/2 a million players. I'm goood!

I got mine for Christmas!!! My Dad showed up and asked what I wanted or needed for Christmas. My 9 yo old daughter and I were playing GH3 at the time. He asked would you want something like this as it was a rental. I told him I would prefer Rockband as it seemed like it would be more fun. So Christmas morning roles around and I open my gift it is rockband, 33 yo and I get a video game for christmas!!! Is that sad, hope not as it is so much fun, the only problem every store was sold out of the Xbox 360 bundle and my Dad wanted to get me something to put under the tree so he bought the PS3 bundle. The day after Christmas my wife and three daughters 4,9, and 15 loaded into the car and left NH headed for Mississippi to my in-laws for Christmas. I did not mention that the rock band bundle was in the trunk. 5 states and I can't count how many walmarts it was at least 70 no xbox360 versions. We stopped for the night near the Tennessee and West Virginia after supper and all checked into the hotel my 15 yo and I decided to try a 2 more walmarts we found. The first was a no go, only PS3 versions, so we went to the second and again only PS3 versions as we are leaving my daughter taps me and shows me a rockband bundle in the return line, figuring it was a PS3 version I almost left without checking. Upon checking it was the xbox version!!!!! So I wait in line and get the exchange only one problem forgot my ID in the hotel room. No ID no exchange!!!!!! So I get them to hold it and begin the 25 minute drive back to my hotel, however in all the excitment got a little lost d@mn big cities with 1 way streets 55 minutes later we found the hotel and head back to Walmart. The exchange is complete back to the hotel room to get some sleep it is now close to 3am and we are headed back on the road at 6am to finish a 16 hour drive to Gulfport Mississippi. Needless to say all the stops at the end of the day after 70 plus walmarts through many states I had my rockband. The next day was a terrible ride as I was exhausted, but having rockband for my xbox 360 made it so much better!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember that not every member has rock band, the members in europre are still waiting. By then the numbers will sky rocket, plues the fact that they'll buy the DLC. (Not sure wether [sp] it'll be the same dlc we have)

I wouldn't necessarily assume that the Europeans will necessarily buy much DLC... heck, the average DLC purchase per Rock Band owner, if sales figures are accurate, is four songs. With people like myself and their 71 song DLC library throwing off the average, it would be safe to assume the overwhelming majority of people never touch the addon songs.
