With the Les Paul issues and the lack of voice chat or players met, I am wondering if Harmonix even has a PS3 QA guy.

Agreed. The funny thing about HMXspraynwash's announcement on this was that it said Sony had to do extensive playtesting for patches as well as HMX. Does this mean we have not only incompetent HMX PS3 QA guys, but incompetent Sony guys as well? :confused:

Yes, the Grateful Dead pack problem seems to be happening to everyone on the PS3.

it says i already downloaded the trash pack even though i know i dont have that one. i thought if i selected download again i would get it for free :( didnt let me. guess i have to wait for playstation store to update.

I'm thinking that YES, I'd still have the problem, but it'd be with another pack. :p

I would be willing to bet that this will be resolved when the Playstation Store updates later today. Seeing as it has songs in there (the Thrash Pack) that are not yet available in the store, it isn't a stretch to think that the PSN store and the RB store are not yet "in sync".

Mine has one song from Grateful dead marked as downloaded (I don't mind because I'll never get those songs so it can stay broke for me)

But I did purchase and download a couple songs thanks to the preview feature, songs I like already but didn't recognize the name.

When you download you don't have to exit the store to install like you do if you buy straight from the store, the RB MS just installs them for you.

We posted on this in another thread. The issue does indeed seem to be resolved (I think it was resolved a bit earlier, but officially believed fixed around 6).

I think I just encountered a new issue with the ingame store.

First I selected Shockwave and clicked "purchase". Then, instead of completing the purchase I selected "back to game" or whatever it is to cancel.

Then I selected CrushCrushCrush and clicked "purchase", it took me to the PS Store where my cart appeared to only contain CrushCrushCrush. I then clicked the button to complete the transaction and my PS3 started downloading Shockwave (WTF?).

After the download was complete, the ingame store said I had purchased both CrushCrushCrush and Shockwave so I backed out to quickplay to see which song (s) I actually had. I had Shockwave, but not CrushCrushCrush. So I went back into the ingame store and tried to "Download Again" CrushCrushCrush at which point I was told that song was currently unavailable.

I would be extremely angry about this if I weren't planning on buying Shockwave anyway, and as it is I'm mildly annoyed because I'm currently unable to purchase CrushCrushCrush from the ingame store (restarting my PS3 doesn't help).

The next thing I plan to try is buying CrushCrushCrush from the PS Store outside of the game. Regardless, this issue needs to be fixed.

Note: this all occurred around 7:30 Eastern time

edit: I just got my purchase confirmation email from the PSN saying I had purchased CrushCrushCrush

I had 2 minor things happen. I purchased Crushcrushcrush last week and it said NEW in the store. Also for no reason the store just kicked me out, happened twice.

Seems to work just fine for me... granted, I had purchased all the songs prior to going into the store, but still... looks like a pretty slick setup.

Look folks, sometimes there are things you just don't find until something goes live. The patch barely went live, let's give the good folks at Harmonix a little time to investigate the issue before we go off half-cocked.

This minor update took them 5 months to do, it's broken on arrival, and you're asking for more patience?

With customers like this Harmonix, you can't go wrong.

I went on the rockband in game store and bought crushcrushrush and i started to download shockwave instead. after that it said i bought both of them. now i cant download either one of them.

Yeah, some people have experienced the same issue as your beyoundparadise. We haven't heard back from HMX yet.

I think mine was pretty accurate with the exception of Paramore CrushCrushCrush. I bought this song last week and it shows as I can buy it. Other than that, I think it is really cool.

Look folks, sometimes there are things you just don't find until something goes live. The patch barely went live, let's give the good folks at Harmonix a little time to investigate the issue before we go off half-cocked.

Note I am not talking about the folks that are reporting the issue, that's actually helpful.
I think people wouldn't be so ready to go off half-cocked if the problems from the last patch in late February had ever been resolved for ps3 owners. It's a pattern of neglect for us, and while somewhat amusing, it's also somewhat annoying.

Same with me. Paramore is the only thing that's off.

Saying it arrived broken is just flat-out wrong, and I can't help but feel you're just trying to stir the pot. As I've said in the past, live environments can often introduce issues that could never be found in the normal testing environment.

edit* Actually, I'm getting my threads crossed up. The issue, as stated by the OP was fixed almost immediately.

I went to the Rock Band store last night. I wanted to buy a song but noticed it charged me tax. The playstation store never charged me tax. (I quit the game to confirm this)

the PSN store has always charged me taxes. And the rockband store is just a front-end for the PSN store so it cannot be different.

Apparently its not the same because Rock Band store wanted to charge me tax, so I quit and went to playstation store and bought it there instead. (Where it charged me 0 tax). I guess I'll keep buying my songs through the playstation store then, and just use the Rock Band store to preview them. (The funny thing is the tax seemed to be wrong too. It was charging 6% even though NJ raised it to 7% last year)

Is downloading in the background supposed to work with the PS3 in game music store?

I tried downloading the thrash pack from the new in game music store last night (PS3). Everything went smoothly till the download page. I clicked download, and the download started. It was at about 33% when I hit "Perform in background". Then we started poking around and playing with the store for about 5 mins. I went back to the game, and the new songs were not in the list of downloaded songs.

I went back to the music store and it said they had been purchased. I went back to the game and they were still not in the game.

I exited the game and on the "download management" XMB menu item, the thrash pack was listed, and was still at 33%. Once on this page, it started downloading again. so I went back into the game, and I think it stoped downloading.

So I exited the game again, and waited for the pack to finish downloading. Then it appeared in the normal (pre-store) place waiting to be installed.

Is this intentended behavior? Am I not supposed to try "perform in the background" when using the in game music store? or is this a bug?

If I wait for it to download from the store will it be installed? or do I have to exit the game to install it?

I wonder if that is a state-by-state thing, the charging of tax... anyways, still tax-free in Michigan :)

Quyrean: Background downloading is always torturously slow while playing a game, that's nothing new. Even still, you have to quit the game to install the new songs...

I live in NC and do not get charged tax on playstation store purchases. I bought a couple of songs through the rock band interface to the store last night and it did not charge tax either.

For some reason, I cant get into the new store or play online for that matter. When I try to connect to the store it just says "connecting to rock central server..." and then says I cant make a connection. Like I said I also cant play online. My internet is working fine and I can still go online to the PSN, but I just cant do anything w/ RB online. Anyone know why or how I can fix this?

It is probably a firewall issue. Rock Band uses different port numbers then the ps store.

can i fix this?

Probably. I dont know how much you know about networking or what your setup is. Here is supposedly the list of ports.

Do you have a router with a firewall? There are also some threads that might help in the support forum.

Looks like there may be issues with the In Game Store...

After the update I entered the store and noticed that it had marked quite a few songs as already purchased that I've not yet purchased -- for instance all the Grateful Dead songs.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I don't have this, but it says I bought CrushCrushCrush when I didn't.

What happens if you press Download again? Will you download it for free? I check my credit card to be sure that I wasn't charged anything and hopefully, I wasn't charged anything. Too bad I don't want to download CrushCrushCrush even for free. :P
