I heard Tarantula. I like it, but not like I used to like Gish, SD, MCIS era Pumpkins stuff. Not sure if they'll recapture the magic of those days, but I still eagerly await Zeitgeist this July. I know Pumpkins are love/hate or simply hate/hate for some, but I was wayyy into them in mid-90's.

Yeah, I am listening to one of their live shows right now. Wow, they are doing a 19 minute version of one of their new songs, "Gossamer". Really nice drumming from Jimmy Chamberlain, otherwise known affectionately as "JC". Billy is doing an "I am One" style rant and yelp. Screaming about a war going on in the U.S.A.
You can find the live shows online, thanks to the tapers. They are doing an 11 show residency at the Fillmore in SF. They are also encouraging taping and recording of these live shows.
Welcome back Pumpkins.

I really like the new song. Must admit, I'm not a huge Pumpkins fan but it's a great single, I'll probably check out Zeitgeist when it comes out.

i wasn't too impressed by the single, but i've seen live footage of 4 or 5 other new ones that are definitely on par with their best. I'm one of those guys with 300 different pumpkins tracks on his computer, so i'm dead serious!

lol I watched an interview on youtube with Billy during the farewell tour. I'll definitely check out Zeitgeist. I saw the Linkin Park video for What I've Done and it reminded me of Bullet With Butterfly Wings only crappier.

I thinks its kind of cool that they are finally getting back together. And where can you find the new stuff?

Holy snappers, would you happen to know anyone or have an extra ticket to one of those shows? I wanted to go too, but I missed the boat on tickets when they went on sale, and of course are sold out now.
I know of their insane ticket policy. 2 per and purchaser must pickup tickets with ID and Credit Card and walk directly in the venue.

im quite liking tarantula, great antidote for some of the terrible guitar music being released in Britain at the moment, is it just me or is it all pretty much the same? oh well, maybe this album will spell and end to all that...here's hoping.

I don't know my friend didn't like the new cd to much, but that could be good. We liked polar opposite cd's. He was a Gish man, I am a Adore and Machina man myself. So does the new cd sound like them?

Yeah if you liked Machina and Adore, you will probably get into Zeitgeist. I was hoping for a return to Gish and SD sounds, but it's still good. Not their best album ever, but not the worst either.
