Any other PS3 owners now getting a ridiculously annoying "Loading Additional Content" after the Rock Band Start screen? I didn't have it at all before the patch, noticed it last night after the patch, and this morning it literally lasted for 5+ minutes. Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry if this has already been written about; I didn't see anything that was directly resembling my exact issue. Thanks, guys.

(virtually) Everybody seems to be getting the "Loading Additional Content" message post-patch, but I don't think it's taking 5 minutes for many of them.

It looks like HMX changed something to speed up loading on the Xbox360 and wound up slowing it down on the PS3...

Where's that redheaded stepchild thread?:D

It's never taken 5 minutes for me either... but yeah, the patch definitely SLOWED DOWN loading on the PS3. Kinda annoying.

I wish I was exaggerating, but it definitely took 5+ minutes. Crazy. That being said, I hadn't restarted my machine since the patch last night. We'll see how things go tonight.

It's funny because I think that Xbox owners got it backwards. Meaning, that patch made things faster for them. But yeah, it sure as heck doesn't take 5 mins for me to load the *additional content*. Maybe like 3-4secs.

It's about 4-6 seconds here, but I also have all the DLC, so take that as you will.

I'm thinking that this loading delay has something to do with the integration of the store, however.

Like sillystou, it took me about 2 seconds last night, but the problem actually occurred this morning. Just hoping it needed a system restart. We'll see.

When I saw the "Loading Additional Content" last night I wondered if they just didn't show us that message before even though they were doing it behind the scenes. Before, you would hit continue and it would display some loading message for about 5 secs and you were off to the races. Now, you see the "Loading Additional Content" message as well. Something had to load that content before. And for reference, I have about 50 DLC songs and didn't notice any additional loading delay.

Not sure the problem, I've never seen the loading screen either... but it only takes like 6 seconds, and it happens during the normal loading anyways.

The patch didn't have the opposite effect on PS3 as some of you are insinuating. I do get a small load screen of about 3 seconds at start, but other than that, no slow downs at all in song cycling, which is what the patch was intended for.

As I understand it, the patch was intended to speed up the initial startup of the game on the 360. Prior to the patch, people with a 360 and a lot of DLC were waiting a minute or more for the "Loading Additional Content" message, not they only wait a few seconds. On the PS3, there was no wait (or at least no message) until the patch which has resulted in there being a few seconds delay while "Loading Additional Content".

Also, even if the patch was intended to speed up song cycling (which it wasn't), it has either had no effect or a negative effect on PS3 users depending on some unknown factor being discussed in this thread (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36968).

I always thought that users (maybe just on 360?) were complaining that it takes a long time to display the song list once they enter one of the modes, not at startup. I mean, if it took place only once, at the beginning of the game, what was the big deal, right? But I guess it was longer than what most people liked. The announcement didn't make the distinction of it being a 360-only issue... Oh well, either way I've not been had a negative effect.

There is a loading additional content message at game start-up, but I assumed it was happening in the background previously anyway before the patch, and maybe they've tweaked it to make song cycling faster than it already was.

There was an excruciatingly long "Loading Additional Content..." when connected to Live! with an Xbox360 chock full of DLC. It could take upwards of 1 minute+

It sounds like the OP's issue is an isolated incident. I'm not sure what was changed on the PS3, but if you are seeing a 3-4 second "loading content" where none existed before, then that is likely due to a sweeping change in the way that DLC is loaded.

patch is great.. but I am considering deleting my rockband info and just starting over again.. and play the game without the patch/bugs.. until the next update

Loading Additional content isn't a bug.

On my PS3, the game worked better before the patch. It still works, but it is slower and I do get that loading content message which I never had before. And I have not added any additional DLC since the update so the before and after comparison is accurate.

However, i love having the in-game store, so i guess the longer wait is worth slower load times, even though the two should not be connected at all.

What I encountered after a system reboot:

I'm experiencing an extreme version of this new PS3 problem. The MTV logo is displayed for a longer period of time (at least 5x the length the Harmonix logo is displayed). On top of that, I receive the "Loading Additional Content" screen for 2+ minutes. To top it all off, the waiting is done in vain as the game in non-responsive once I make a selection from the Main Menu. Understand that it doesn't freeze; the music and animated menus continue. Perhaps it would eventually load my selection, but I'm too disguisted by this point to wait any longer. Unacceptable.

Nothing's changed on my PS3 setup, Johnlok. All I know is the patch seemed to work for me initially and the real problem was evident this morning. Either way, I'm super-stoked for the Boston DLC so I'd like to get this issue ironed out whether it be isolated or not. Thanks.

EDIT: I don't know what just happened, but I reloaded the game (for the fourth time since I returned home this evening) and everything loaded up just as it should. Good Lord, Johnlok; you're a genius! I'll post if I notice the problem occurring again. Thanks for the hard work and killer content.

1+ minute was a generous time for me. Owning all the dlc(and with 100mbps cable internet) it took about 2-3+ minutes, and longer if two people were signed in.

I am very thankful for this patch.:)

Edit:
And mind you this was with people connected to live. People on 360 not connected to live did not experience this (ex)problem.

I got most of the dlc - The ps3 does take a few seconds longer to long to load now but the online is alot faster.

I counted 7 seconds to load. I think it use to take about 3

same here even with the xbox 360 it happens, i think its because of the new software update

A change for the worst, it seems, at least for PS3 players.

It's not a big problem, but as someone with ALL the DLC, and plans to continue getting all the DLC, is this wait going to get worse?
