I was just wondering, would it be possible on some songs to have backing vocals? I personally would think it more fun if I could play guitar and sing-a-long in the chrous for extra effect. I would also prefer it because I cant sing very well, lol, and I still want to a bit of singing as its loads of fun.
The perfect thing would be if both the guitarist and bassist (and maybe the drummer?) could add that extra depth to the chorus'.
It would also add an extra edge of difficulty for those of us that can blaze expert difficulties.

Thoughts?

It is a pretty cool idea but I don't think it should be a necessity.
If there was a choice for the guitarist/bassist/drummer to sing along if they have the microphone it would be a nice addition but it's not really necessary...

Interseting idea though...

Chances are it wont be a part of the game... but nothing's stopping us from singing backup anyway, just for the fun of it.

Doubt it, because you would need more than one microphone. :/

Backup vocals would be great, but my friends are such horrible singers, I'll hide the rest of my headsets while we're playing.

Thats an awesome idea. I'm just trying to figure out how they could integrate it into the screen with all of the other parts. Maybe you'd have to specify which instruments had back ups before you started the song. Then the words would show up on the guitarist's part or the bassist's part or the drummer's part....... any other thoughts?

I dont think it would require any extra space on the screen. You could simply implement it by maybe highlighting the vocal lines which are sung by everyone. Or using different colours to differentiate between lead vocals and backing vocals. This is assuming that the lyrics will go across the screen in an obvious place. Otherwise, yeah, it probably would go across the guitar/bass/drums lines.
About an extra microphone, I dont see that being a problem really, I mean it would be extra cost but its possible to do on the PS3 at least becasue I know that can allow up to 7 wireless devices to connect to it. I dont know about 360 though.

Yes, you could do it without the game, but where the fun in that? I want it to amplify and mean something to the game, by maybe adding points. And about friends being bad singers......its backing vocals.......its meant for bad singers :D you can hide behind the lead vocals. Except on songs where backing vocals do seperate lines, then you might be in trouble. Lol, just blame it on the fact you are playing guitar, :p
