Rock Band PS2???

Hey I was wondering if it is really true that Rock Band will be released for the PS2? I don't have a PS3 (nor do I want to pay for one) or a XBOX 360 (I just have problems with XBOX). If it will be released on the PS2 can I know if there will be any noticeable differences, or if they will be released on different dates, any help on this question would be appreciated. Thanks!

No details are known yet, just that it is being worked on.

The real question is will it only be in Europe (it was announced at Leipzig) or will it be released in North America as well? HMX has not confirmed one way or another yet.

Probably no downloadable content on it. Which for me is the best part of Rock Band. So I don't think it's worth it

all that is known about the PS2 version is it will launch in 08 no idea if it's coming to NA it was a Euro announcement at Leipzig, all that has been said about the game itself is there are new game modes not in the PS3/360 version most likely because it may not have DLC/ online play but nothing is confirmed and neither are any controllers for it.

it's moot for me since i dont own a ps2, and will be getting RB for ps3, but i thought i would add to the discussion.

since the ps2 games are limited in storage capacity, and it's hard to see DLC, how would they handle the appeal of the game between the europe and NA versions? i know american songs have a mass audience so many will appear in the euro version, but they would have to consider a whole new set list for the euro version because the consumers may feel "cheated" seeing all the regional songs available on the next gen console version and through DLC. seems like it could be a lot of work if they havent started already.

but maybe programming is easier than i think and they can easily dumb down their work for xbox/360 tracks onto the ps2/wii.

If this does happen, it would be SO incredibly ironic and funny... Considering as my brother in law bought me the Xbox 360 for my birthday specifically for RB, cause my wife would do anything she could do to stop me from getting a 360 lol... she's a bit anti-Microsoft. just a bit. heh.

oh, i can see it all playing out now, and it'll be awesome. :D
