Band World Tour online.... when?

Hello ALL, i love rock band, but i have a small problem. I know BWT isnt online, but its too much of a hassle for me to have sum frends over (i live in ontario and one of them lives in PEI) and it takes a while to get all those "big in (city)" achievements. So i was wondering (looking for a response from sumone from HMX who can verify this) when will BWT be available for online play? Are you working on this, and if so, how long will it take? Aprox. date if possible.

I wish for this as well, As my friends cant go past Medium (Except one, But he lives a while out).

We can hope for it, But for right now Stay put, There are plenty of other things to unlock, Or perhaps play another game while waiting if youare that bored of it that you need a new feature. I recomend Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

well thanks for the replies (except for the ones saying "its not that hard" and "go buy a real bass" etc.) i understand this would take a while, but is definetly one of the things people want the most. I just wanted to see if it WOULD happen. Anyway, i wouldn't wanna play with random people. i'd want to play just with my friends every time.

Are you kidding me? I dont think this is unreasonable at all. I just moved to a new city, you want me to ask my 50 year old neighbor to join me? Thanks for being rude. Nice to know that people around here listen to other people that play the game and help you in supporting you the best that they can, it's not all about you.

This is supposed to be a game that is for everyone and for people that cant get all of their friends together like you can, Mr. Popular.

First off, yes we did just get an update but what was the big update? Music Store? Everything else was basically fixing problems. Now don't get me wrong, I am very appreciative for the music store, but I wish HMX knocked out some of the bigger things that people wanted. Like BWT online.....(and PS3 voice chat*cough cough*)

O and no one knows when,or if, BWT online is coming out. HMX doesn't tell people much...

I'm tired of people treating the online store as fan service, they only added it to make buying DLC more accessible, so they make more money. I don't view this as a feature. The rise of the fan cap was nice, but it's definitely time for them to work on online BWT now.

Dude, he wasn't telling you to buy a real bass...he was saying play bass and sing on the game...that's how I get through BWT.

First, bwt online was never confirmed as something they are doing. (I believe)They said they were looking into it and that was it.

Second, with the change in the fan cap, your friends only need to be able to play on medium to do pretty much everything now. Even before the update you could get all the way to the endless setlist on medium.

Third, for those without local friends that are willing to play, it shouldn't be too hard to play on medium singing and bass at the same time.

Sure it isn't the best of situations, but I would rather the fix to be to allow bwt to be solo than to put it online. It would just get messy. Though I do see the merit of being able to do it with friends online.

I'm normally nice and you're new, so I'm going to give you some leeway. First off, welcome.

Secondly, no where in his post was he rude. He was trying to give you a solution to your problem. Online bwt is something that plagues these forums everyday, and I'm probably wasting my time posting this now. Simply put, we do not know when, or even if, it will be released.

Lastly, use the search function. You'll find it saves time and keeps the community members that have been here for six months happier. Trust me, you don't want to see them mad.

Bonethug- first of all i didnt know about the change in the fan cap, cause last time i had people over we werent very far in BWT and he was playing on medium, me on hard, it was already telling us to play on higher difficulty. so now i know, thanks. also, to be honest, im not a very good multitasker, i tried singing and guitar and i didnt do so great, but its sumthin to work on. for example, right now im supposed to be doing homework, yet all im doing is chatting and posting :D.

This is the thing I want more than anything else as well. Im 32, and disabled with degenerative disk disease, so I have waaaay too much time on my hands, and love music. As such Im a fairly accomplished expert level player.

Of all our friends, only one couple plays the game at all besides us, and Im the only one of us capable of expert difficulty. While I enjoy playing with my wife and this couple we are friends with, I would dearly love to be able to go for some big time scores and the Endless Setlist with a whole band of expert level players. Since I couldnt sing a single note on key to save my life from a firing squad, the bass + vocals thing is out for me too.

Crossing my fingers that this happens sooner than later!

I also want Online BTW. I don't know any expert players so there is no chance of getting the achivements and the icons. I know they said they are working on it. Id imagine its taking them some time. Hopefully its out in the near future!

I'm going to play prophet and say online BWT will make its first appearance in December of 2009 as a major feature in Rock Band 2.;)

People were asking about BWT being online long before the game even came out. At the time (I read it in a magazine, and no I don't have a source) the official line was, "it's really, really hard. We're still trying to figure out if we can do it."

Obviously, it's still really, really hard, and they still haven't figured out if they can do it - but they haven't given up on it completely. I'm sure if anything's changed, they'd have said something by now. Online petitions and people pestering them on the forums isn't going to magically change all of that.

I think by now, HMX should be well aware of our demands for BWT. Whether or not they are doing anything about it remains to be seen.

Speak with your wallets.. if they put it out for RB1, show your appreciation by buying more DLC and encouraging people to buy the game because it shows that they respect the longevity and money already invested in RB1. If they put it out for RB2, do what I will do... don't buy it.

Forgive me for dragging up an old thread. I was without internet for a few days.

I was just making sure the info is out there. If I sounded rude I apologize. I know there is no perfect solution for those people who truly have no one local to play with(or at least at a decent difficulty).

I'm glad they raised the fan cap. That should help alot. Now you can basically finish everything on medium. I know some people that still play on easy, but hopefully you can find at least one person that can play medium.

I try playing it by myself, but it is pretty hard to sing and do guitar/bass. My cousin comes in from college every couple of weekends and we play it. Everyone else I play with is still playing easy or medium(which since the cap increase, some of them can help me out now:)).

Well thanks guys, for all your replies. I found a temporary solution. My friend is getting RB next weekend and i go to his house everyday at lunch break, so im gunna put my profile on my memory card and get all the achievements there! Thanks all!

I am sure that HMX knows about everybody wanting BWT Online by now; but I see it as a much bigger project than what you think...

First they'd have to even figure out if this can work and put it in the update. Not only that but for communication purposes they'd have to add the PS3 voice chat or it would be almost impossible to set up band dates, possible practices, making online setlists, etc with someone from only messages.

I think it's gonna be awhile if it ever does come out, and I agree with the post earlier.. I think it will be a feature in Rockband 2; they would make loads of cash, because everyone would buy it for the feature.
