Do you think RB will be out this year?

Most places seem to have it listed round the nov/dec 2007 mark (even though i haven't read anything official), but is it possible?

Despite it reading like HMX has the source code from GH, it still seems like an awful lot they've got to build up from the ground, not to mention locking down the controllers, netplay, and all the extra graphical stuff.

Of course, their dev team could be comprised of a thousand spartas for all I know, so perhaps that is a moot point.

However what is more important, and one I put out to you forum monkeys, is there room for RB and GH3 to both drop during the same Holiday season? Seems like a lot of game to buy, and perhaps there would be more impact for both parties if the franchises had a 6 month spread between them?

(Not that it matters to me since I'll grab both and bust out the double xbox action like John Woo, naturally)

I'm pretty sure Harmonix have been working on this for like, years. I don't mean actually working on it, but they would have had discussions about it and roughly planned it, and with all the stuff they've done with guitar hero they would be able to whiz through the production process relatively fast.

So I think they should be able to stay on target for the release this spring/summer.

EDIT: Or winter for those in the northern hemisphere.

You mean because GH III is being released around the same time? It is kinda sucky, making both GH fans and general gamers choose 1 (unless you can afford both)

I'm 95% certain I'm going to be getting Rock Band rather that GH this year. Unless the set list in GH is extremely better it'll have to wait until next year.

If that's the case then I'll have to go with Rock Band. I know it will cost more money with all of the instruments, but to be able to play in a virtually simulated rock band with my friends and not suck hard is better than GH any day. I'm not saying I won't get GH III but it will have to wait.

I hope this and Guitar Hero 3 are released at least 1 month apart. I'm getting both, but if I had to choose it would be Rock Band all the way.

Of course, given the way we get games in NZ, I probably won't end up getting either until mid 2008 once all you Americans have already cleaned up on the leaderboards :/

I live in South Australia and I know what ya mean. hopefully we get it b4 xmas though... that not asking too much is it?

I thought Guitar Hero 2 was released the same week in Australia, Europe and America, but they were all a week apart. US, followed by Australia and then Europe. GH 80's appears to be releasing a week later after the US if the current date is correct.

With EA on board as the distributor, there should be no reason why we all can't have this the same time as the US. Maybe a week later max.
