Regarding the karaoke bit of RB...

From what I understand, all these types of games work based on what tones you hit and holding it for the correct amount of time.

What I'm wondering is, how well will this carry over into loud throaty rock? Now, I'll admit that I haven't done a lot of thinking on this, nor have I got much of an ear for singing myself.. but I was thinking that that karaoke style of play probably works a lot better with clean restrained vocals? If you've got a track which you're expected to go all out on (and I would hope there's a few) is sticking to the exact notes that important?

Just a few thoughts anyway.

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't know how this will work, but I can't wait for more info on it. Right now I'm thinking maybe they will have lead in lower left section of screen, bass in lower right, drums in upper middle, and words scrolling across the middle of the screen through it all. How that will work as far as pitch and all with the voice I'm not sure.

Another thing I realized is that we have a headset port on the 360 guitar. Maybe we can finally put these to use and sing into our headset?

With HMX you can almost bet that they will come up with something intuitive. I believe that it won't simply be Singstar with other parts on the screen for Guitar, Bass, and Drums. Have a little faith. The gods of rocks gaming have knowledge of things that have yet to pass. :D

Really? I was thinking that's exactly how it will be. Lead Guitar on the Left, Drums in the middle, Bass on the right and Vocals up the top stretching across the whole screen.

Yeah, that felt like it worked pretty naturally. You had to hit the notes and get the timing right, but that still left room for individual voice tones/styles.
