View Full Version : How Will Controller Connect?

CuloApestoso

OK, according to GameStop, the bundle is $200 which includes a wired guitar, drums and mic...Now, the 360 only has two front USB port and one on the back, I'm already using the back one for my ethernet adapter and so the the obvious question is: How will 3 controller connect or even four when using a bass, to a console that has only 2 connecting ports? Anybody know for sure?

USB hub if you want all 4 to connect by wires.

If you have a wireless 360 controller, you'll only need 3 USB ports - the microphone plugs into your controller.

Well, that's not very practical now is it? First, many like me, USE THE USB PORT ON THE BACK to connect the wireless ethernet adapter. So that leaves us with only two. About the Mic, is that a fact? it will connect to a controller? and if so, again, not very practical, is the cable long enough so once attached to the controller, one does not drag the controller around as the mic is being used? Things like these should really be highlighted so no unhappy customers start to complaint.

Even with the wireless 360, which I have, the integration of a second guitar (for bass) is impossible, again, the USB being used for ethernet on the back. So, I guess players, besides paying the 200 bucks or whatever it costs separately, will have to invest on a USB hub. Lame.

Also it is possible that the guitars will be wireless, nothing is officially confirmed yet as to whether it is wired or wireless or both. Also I suggest either using your GH II or GH III controller as the Bass as I don't think the extra 5 fret buttons are even used for anything except guitar solos. Like it is said above me the mic will connect through your controller which means if you have a wireless controller thats one less USB as well, so then you are looking at only really needing to use 2 USB ports for the Drums and Possibly your Guitar.

OH MY GOD, TEN WHOLE DOLLARS.

SOMEONE ALERT THE PRESIDENT.

(Of course, for those of us that already have a USB Hub for other devices, less of a problem. :p)

Agreed on that. A SUGGESTION TO SEAN: In the confirmation email for accounts on here, MAKE THEM read the n00b guide before being allowed to activate their account, maybe tidy it up to HMX's standards.

Oh and lol, goosefraba, nice, its funny how someone can change

I wish we could do that, but the thing is, you can't ever make anyone do anything. If you try to make a noob read the guide, it'll just make him/her not want to read it even more. All we can do is ask them nicely and hope they read it, if they don't read it after you ask them nicely, then flame them without mercy!!! lol :D

You are so cool, I really wish I could be like you. If only.... Dude, I'm not one to bash "newbies" and all because at one point in time everyone is. When I first became a member (now senior member :D jk) I was confused about the guitar compatibility between GH3 and RB and PS3 and PS2 so rather than bothering people I figured to look it up myself. It's just that 1. Gamestop is not a reliable source for video game information. 2. There are people here that are just tired of having to read the same posts day in and day out. There is a simple search option because odds are no matter how obscure your question might be, it's probably already been asked.

The "noob guide" as it's called is very helpful with released and confirmed information even though it could stand to have a more user friendly name attached to it.

Admittedly, I haven't been posting as frequently as others, but I'm hardly a "n00b".

However, to say things like "stop all the n00bs" and so on... that's not right.

I mean... EVERYONE is a n00b at some point. Some of you have been real cool in quickly answering the obvious questions and kindly pointing them to the n00b guide.

However, getting all furious and pissy at these "n00bs" for posting - what they feel - is an innocent question... that's not right, guys.

Someone, please lock this thread... cause there seems to be some hatin' unfoldin'....

In behalf of the entire RB forums community I apologize. I know that some members like GH2Master and The_Spike get frustrated and call you a noob and mock you. And I would just like to say that I am sorry that I didn't call you out earlier.

On every single post you have made here on this thread has been insulting, idiotic, and you should be banned immediately.

You have only posted three times on this forum and I already know that if you stay here you will surely ruin this community. With that said I hope a thousand ban sticks fall upon your face until you are smothered and beaten beyond recognition. Again I would like to say that I apologize that I didn't say this earlier.

I have to say, I did go overboard with the flame on I posted....I apologize to those who got offended, I really do. BUT, having said that, being called a NOOB 'cause you ask a question to which....not even the so called SENIOR members have an answer for, is not very nice. So if NOBODY knows the answer, because the "official" specs of the game and its peripherals have not been released to the public, why not let the subject open to discussion without the NOOB crap? Maybe if the developers posted some useful information about this sort of question on their main site, people like me would not ask. But since there's none, one has to ask.

Another thing, you think you do any good to the game's publicity if you treat every "new" member to this forum like crap? You may think you're cool by calling new comers noobs, not everybody has the jobless free time u do, so all you do is turn people away from buying the game. Take it easy.

Again, I apologize to those who were not involved in this whole NOOB crap calling. To those who did call me a noob....really...sod off.

I think your missing the point. Yes, bashing someone for not knowings something is definitely wrong. They are bashing you because you jump in and post a thread without reading anything first. The "n00b" guide is one thing you could have read. Also, you could have read MULTIPLE other threads of people making the same mistake you did. You can't expect to get a serious answer if your not willing to take the time necessary to educate yourself. We are all adults here (mostly) and you/we should act like one.

I see where you're coming from, but you sorta need to do your research. The n00b guide is an easy to see sticky, and if not that Sean's FAQ will do at least.

Believe me, if its not all over IGN or GS then its not confirmed. Soz if you took it strongly, you are a smarter "noob" but some people are much worse.

I just recommend in the future you look more deeply at the stickies, and I apologise for us OAPs (Old aged posters, basically n00b bashes who've posted a ton) for offending you.

wow. this sort of hostility doesn't happen much around these parts.

To CuloApestoso (and others similar) -
The noob guide is awesome. Xzyliac's hilarious, and it's entertaining to read just from a prose standpoint. It answers basically anything that you have a question about, even if it's just saying "we don't know yet" a lot. Take some time to cool down, have some tea, and read the guide. Once you do, you'll have a much better understanding of where things sit.

That being said, your insulting creativity is pretty lacking. "Oooh... just because we post on a forum means we're live-at-home pimply losers without jobs"... z0mg!! Seriously. Get a brain. You know, these here intarwebs have been pretty popular with "normal people" for at least five years now. Here's a suggestion: Ditch the attitude, ditch the pathetic attempts at "insults", and embrace the love that is Rock Band and it's community. I understand that everyone's been a noob some time or another (hey, just look at my own post count! lol), but then again, most people have read the noob guide, and redundant posts have been obviously not made. I absolutely hate it when there's an air of superiority amongst senior members of a community, and I've left several because of it. Even after reaching that senior status myself.

The RB forum is not that place. Everyone here tolerates and accepts noobs.

What is NOT accepted is a lack of common sense, decency, and the inability to follow simple requests to read an already established FAQ guide. And it's not even boring!

So. Hope that clears some things up for you.

good post. kudos to you sir.

oh and by the way, for all those people that think a newb is the same as a noob, read this.

noob

also seen as: n00b -or- nub -or- no0blet

Unlike a newbie (who is simply a person new to the Internet or software or gaming for example), a noob is someone who my be well versed in the online world but acts like a jerk. A n00b will spend time trying to flame others because they think they are above everyone and automatically know how to do everything. Noobs fail too see the fact that no one is a pro upon beginning an activity; you have to adjust to it.

Even though pronounced the same, the terms "noob" and "newb" are entirely different. Many people who get on the Internet often and/or play extensive online gaming believe that being called a "noob" is truly one of the most derogatory names of all (so please don't make the mistake of calling a newb a noob ;-)
My source of this quote (http://www.netlingo.com/lookup.cfm?term=noob)

Newbs are respected, Noobs are not.
