Rock Band needs to have My Sharona by the Knack, it's simply one of the most well known songs, and the guitar solo is to die for
Also, Dashboard by Modest Mouse is byfar the catchiest song of the year, and the bass/drum lines are too good to pass up in a rock game
Oh...I forgot to mention the Dire Straits' Sultans of Swing, 'nuff said.
Thoughts?

Yes, I agree My Sharona would be a very fun song for every instrument.
I'm a huge Modest Mouse fan, Dashboard has an amazing riff but they have far better songs for this sort of game. Doin' the Cockroach, Tiny Cities Made of Ashes, A Different City, Truckers Atlas, Cowboy Dan, Exit Does Not Exist, all four parts of the band are pretty damn stellar and to be honest i'll be a little surprised if they don't make it into the game or DLC.

glad to find someone who agrees that modest mouse should be in the game :)
and if my sharona ISNT in the game in some way, shape or form, it'd be a travesty

lol, yeah i suggested My Sharona a while back that would be a great song on all instruments, plus i just love the guitar solo in that song.

If Modest Mouse I would like to have Float On. I love that song.
I also love World at Large, but that song probably won't work well for Rockband.

Yes I would love Modest Mouse in the game especially anything off 'The Moon and Antartica' album

just thinking aloud here, but the smashing pumpkins' "Tarantula" from their new album is a good listen (and seems like it would be a good play)
and also, where's the audioslave! "Show Me How to Live" and "One and the Same" are 2 of my favorite songs by them, and i think they'd be decent in RB
i hope that pretty much anything AND everything by rush is being seriously considered as extra DLC
i want finding my way and spirit of the radio badly....
and 2112 could be the ending song of career mode....

I'm hoping that HMX doesn't go for the easy choice with Float On, yeah it's their biggest hit, but it's far from their best, and to be technical on that album they didn't have the original three band members so it doesn't really represent Modest Mouse as well as previous albums.

speaking as a ginormous modest mouse fan I am appalled to the song suggestions in this thread. float on? dashboard? you might as well just admit that you dont really listen to modest mouse and that you just heard that one song on your friends fall out boy mix tape that he made for you. dont get me wrong, Im glad there was extra space on the end of the tape, and that your friend at least expanded your tastes to that of MM. but if those are the actual modest mouse songs you like, then you dont like modest mouse. you like their producers and record company who decided to make their songs shinier and more marketable. When I first saw one of their songs on a minivan commercial, I was like: aight. but when I saw them on MTV I knew it was the end of a good thing. Ive seen modest mouse three times live. the first time they were extremely bad ass. opened with the fruit that ate it self and kicked ass the whole time. the second time they sucked horribly. I boo'd them when they played float on. their set was cut 20 minutes short and you could barely hear their songs, I thought it was because it was an outdoor festival but they were the only ones that sounded like crap. aka: they showed up, they got paid. the third time they were alright, albeit they again had short set. 30 minutes less than promised. but again they played float on, I boo'd, and got many-a weird looks from all the MTV watchers. I told them to all go listen to smells like teen spirit. the point? I hate kids that dont know what the hell there talking about, especially when its something I care about. if you'd like a crash course in modest mouse go buy yourself building nothing out of something or lonesome crowded west. sorry, theres no chick 'oooo aaaaa' background singers. or over the top poppiness, but its quality music none the less. ready thy self for 5 minute outros. my pick for song in rockband? classy plastic lumber or lounge. not because of their intricate musical composition but rather because they rock. if you want musical precision I suggest make everyone happy/mechanical birds. I think it sounds more like dolphins, but Im not picky. and they use the banjo, who dosnt love the banjo? at least modest mouse hasnt had their right to banjo revoked yet. long live the banjo!

amazingly enough, i don't recall saying i was a huge modest mouse fan, all i said was that i think "Dashboard" would be a fun song to play, sorry to see i've offended you so much over a song i like...
