i think i speak for everybody when i say the songs you have posted are some of the worst pieces of **** they could put on the game. each band greatly lacks musical skill and would have died off in their piles of **** years ago if it were not for mtv.
the only good band on there is Lostprophets, but their only good music comes from their first album, which you don't have.

You see, I'm a bit perplexed...
I think that Rock Band should not just have harcore rock, but a variety of music for all music lovers out there.
This, I agree with you about. (Not that the whole game being 60's-70's era stuff would make me unhappy)
Panic at the Disco! - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - Its Time To Dance + The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage
Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight - What I've Done

Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High - Thnk Fr Th Mmrs + This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race
Lostprophets - Liberation Transmission - 4AM Forever + Rooftops Start Something - Last Train Home + We Are Gozilla - You Are Japan
But [I]this, makes me hope you go die in a hole.
Now, I'm sure we can reach a compromise in which none of your music gets in the game - but we still let you play it. Hell, maybe you'll even your music as DLC.

Why is it that this sort of music is considered crap? People like it, and they won't stop liking it just cause you ******ed metalheads think differently. I for one would like to see one of these bands in RB, because 1: I like them and 2: We need diversity in songs on RB, not just stupid Metal or classics (I'm not saying I hate classics, but we NEED diversity.)

it is considered crap because:
1. The mentioned bands lack any form of musical skill, as shown in the mentioned songs.
2. The mentioned bands are some of the most popular "rock" bands on the popular network MTV, which is shown to the teenage drones to be the good rock of the current era, and having it in a video game would make that worse.
3. The mentioned songs could be taking up a spot that a better one could have.
yes we need diversity, which is why we need metal. please tell me how the current RB setlist is filled with metal.

There's a difference between having a variety of bands, and having terrible bands.
Also, I like how if you dislike this horrible music you're automatically a "Metalhead". There are so many other subgenres that would fit better, be more challenging or fun to play, and are more deserving. This music is garbage.

okay...i dont like any of the bands mentioned by the original poster except Linkin Park, and even then i don't think most LP songs would work for RB, maybe a few as easier songs but thats all...however, the person that posted this thread is entitled to whatever opinion they want, and i agree there should be variety in RB, not all "classics"...its not the end of the world if there are some modern, popularized bands in the game...and for those of u who would still cut yourselves over having a fall out boy song on the RB songlist, cry about it...the game makers are trying to appease all the masses, including those who like popular modern songs
and finally, you should state your opinions, but there's no need to say "go kill yourself" or "you suck at life" because someone's musical tastes are more inclined to what's on MTV, and that may not even be the case...some people do like panic at the disco for their lyrics and sounds and not just because they wear eye shadow and dance around with clowns in music videos

Yeah, but to be fair aren't we all entitled to our opinion to dislike the music in question? Now granted since it is opinion and whether you like it or not doesn't make it true, you still have the right to have an opinion of the music being terrible.

Okay i understant this. Ok fall out boy would actually be an okay band as long as its from take this to your grave songs like saturday, grand theft autumn.
Linkin Park-again okay band not something id like in rockband but they're okay.
Panic at the disco-nice band but just not rockband material. I like them and all and a lot of other people do but it just doesnt make it as rockband material.
-Lostprophets Rooftops. great song i would love that in here. It has a challenging vocal part as well as relatively good instrumental.
Now i want to say this i'll probably get yelled at for this or flamed but anyway here it goes.
I'm sick and tired of this guys. everytime someone posts a mainstream band they get blasted for it. Mainstream music is not that bad. You guys dont have to overreact to everyones opinions. Everybody has a right to post their music preference and if it's mainstream so be it. I listen to everything from indie to metal to mainstream rock to techno, rap, ska, surf, latin. i know a lot about music i write it. I play bass guitar and electric guitar as well as acoustic. And honestly if you've ever tried to play fallout boy you might realise that is actually quite well written. so dont say you hate music. because eventually you'll learn to apreciate the fact that everyone has an opinion. so if everyone gets flamed for their preferences it scares some people to post what they'd like. So just try and be nice and except a difference of opinon.

No, you didn't use periods or commas. That post, and this one I'm quoting are giant run on sentences. Just because it's juvenile doesn't change the fact that they are jokes that won't make them "Live a long life as a virgin and a moron".
There is humour that is much more juvenile out there. I admit, the insulting women jokes are kinda getting stale, but it's still just a joke. Sadly, they exist because there are so few women on the internet beyond Myspace/Youtube/Livejournal kinda stuff.

This is an awesome list man. Don't listen to the silly elitists, they're just trying to pretend they're cool. Facts are, not everyone listens to old music because they want to seem cool. Some people actually form their own opinions about what is "good" based on music they listen to without being told that they have to like it because it is "classic" or "metal." There are a lot of people out there who like new music. GOOD new music, like Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco.

Panic at the Disco would be HORRIBLE in Rock Band, they might be the WORST songwriters ever. Go look up their lyrics, all their songs are like 1st verse, chorus, repeat... thats it.... they couldn't a complete song to save their lives. Fall Out Boy isn't that bad, they can at least write an entire song.

Those songs would be so boring. Power chords, easy bass, simple drum beat, and repeating lyrics. I do admit it would be funny as hell to sing the Fall Out Boy song Sugar Were Going Down like this:

First, let me start by saying that I am sorry about everyone who resorted to ad hominem attacks against you because they disagreed with your taste in music. I also agree that certain genres of metal would not work well within the context of the game (I am speaking particularly of any type of music that involves screaming.) However, I feel that we have two really great tracks representing metal in rock band (Paranoid and Highway Star). Both of those tracks work well within the context of the game, and I would welcome any genre, as long as it, too, works well with the context of the game.
Having said all of that, I will tell you that I dislike Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy, mostly because their music annoys me. I can respect even MCR for their chord structures, some of which I find interesting (although their rhythms can be quite uninventive.) Perhaps I could find new respect for those songs if I played them in the game, however I would prefer that they were left out of the main setlist. I have no problem with Minutes to Midnight; I've enjoyed what I've heard, although I cannot ever recall liking Linkin' Park prior to that album. I am sadly not familiar with the Lostprophets. I'll have to give them a shot later.
Finally, I agree that Rock Band needs more diversity. However, in my observation, it seems that a majority of the songs have come from the last ten or fifteen years. Most of these songs are good tracks that will prove to be fun in the game, but I would like to see more songs from the 60's and 70's. I want to see YES, Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Beatles, Dire Straits, Van Halen, Aerosmith, and The Eagles in the game. Accordingly, I grow nervous every time a slot is taken up by a newer, less established band, even though most of these bands can rock just as hard as their predecessors.
My advice to you is to give all of these bands a shot. I have a feeling that you like your bands because you've only really heard them. They might not be as bad as everyone here will claim, but there is a lot of really great music out there, and it's a shame for anyone to shun any of it just because of silly prejudices against genres.
It seems that there are a lot of people on these boards who are wrapped up in there own few genres, and they violently lash out against people who listen to different stuff. I, for one, am glad of the opportunity that Rock Band presents. I never have really bought or listened to music in the past, but this game gives me a chance to listen to a variety of different artists, whom I might not have given a chance otherwise. You should all give them a chance as well. You might surprise yourself.

I would definitely like to see some YES, Eagles, and Aerosmith, but frankly, I think these games have enough 60s-80s music, and I honestly think they would be fun to play. People said MCR would suck, but I really enjoy all 4 songs on GH.

Well that's because you don't like them, silly. :) It's your taste in music. You're the idiot for calling me an idiot for having a diff taste in music. If they did PATD as free DLC, I would do a dance. They just released 30 Seconds to Mars, and Attack is now my favorite RB song. It is definitely the most intense. And only 80 MS points as opposed to 160...that is awesome. If they released free Maiden or Beastie Boys, I wouldn't dl it either. I hope I never see those freakin' songs again in my entire life.
And to wings: sorry I don't know the exact years music was released. I'm only in my 20s, I didn't live through all the old stuff. My point was that there is plenty of pre-90s music. I think. Its been a while since that last post.

...I must say I would NOT be pleased to see things like Panic at the Disco....
That is just my tastes though, I do NOT like that kinda stuff.
Should it be in the game?
....
IF enough ppl wanted it....yes.
first of all, he isn't talking about it being shipped with the game, he's talking about it being DLC, i personally only like the linkin park songs on there, but still i'm sure he's not the only one who likes the other 3 bands and to rip him apart like that is totally unfair and not what this game, or this forum is about, how would you like it if u really really liked this band that wasn't popular or hated by the general public. You would still want it as DLC and wouldn't want to be made fun of because you liked it.

Wow... this thread actually made me move from casual reader going through the forums in search of the latest Rock Band updates news to making an account so I can post.
I don't understand why you never hear fans of pop-rock just throw blanket statements like "All Heavy-metal/classic rock/other musical genre sucks *insert animal genitalia*" but you hear fans of said genres saying it all the time. As someone who just enjoys listening to music that I find appealing regardless of what genre I can say I enjoy songs by Fall Out Boy AND songs by Nirvana, Metallica The Who etc. etc. that are found on Rock Band.
This may sound crazy... but my cousin made me listen to a CD called "Take This To Your Grave" 3 or 4 years ago when Fall Out Boy wasn't on MTV and when they were playing in **** hole clubs infront of hundreds of people. And I loved it. I liked From Under a Cork Tree... got slightly annoyed once it made it to MTV and my little cousins and sisters and all their friends caught on to it... but I still enjoy it. And I'm less enthused by Infinity On High not because it's on MTV but because it's like a watered down less creative Take This To Your Grave. Believe it or not some music makes it onto MTV because lots of people decided on their own that they liked the sound of it.
Sometimes I just think all you metalheads/ grunge fans/ classic rock listeners are just upset and jealous that your music isn't as widely enjoyed anymore. Just because something is new and/or widely popular doesn't make it the anti-christ.
I for one would enjoy seeing more Fall Out Boy/Panic at the Disco/Paramore/Taking Back Sunday-ish songs as DLC and in Rock Band 2 along side the best of the best metal, rock, grunge and classics.

I hate how this is seen as the music my generation likes. This music is horrible. I'm 16 and not a metalhead, in fact, I don't like metal, but I respect that music even though it's not my musical taste. But this garbage is horrible and I don't understand how it's even enjoyable to listen to. Also, most of my friends like this music too, and I just don't get it at all. These bands are seen as the huge bands of my generation and it's depressing.
