Give me your thoughts on the album.

everything they make is amazing

However, I don't think any album will ever top Art of Life, that one song is possibly the greatest piece of music ever composed.

I am going to have to agree with the Art of Life bit...As for their other albums I'm more of a Dahlia fan, but yeah they are pretty awesome.

I'm fairly certain when it comes out in Japan they'll have Japan-only DLC.

...and when they do..thats when I strike and make a Japanese PSN account :D

Japanese glam/prog/speed metal band. They made the whole visual kei movement popular. They're also one of the highest selling Japanese artists of all time.

by progressive do you mean "progressive" like symphony x and dream theater or progressive like opeth, anathema, akercocke, etc

More Dream Theater than Opeth. If you want to see their best work go watch all of Art of Life on youtube. I think they had to break it down into 4 parts, its a half hour song, with a couple great 4 minute guitar solos, and a mind-blowing 6 minute piano solo.

Dunno if you'll like em though. Sure they sing in english half the time, but their accent almost destroys it.

But honestly, they are my favourite japanese band and one of the only ones I can bring up when talking about great musicians (although I haven't been into the J-rock scene for a while so its possible there are other ones as good).

Totally love the album.

As for putting a song in for RB DLC... what about "X", or "Rose of Pain"? Rose of Pain would work so well for Rock Band. It's an awesome song, though you can't really hear much of the bass. (It's a bit long too, at a hefty 11:30) But if the surviving members (Yoshiki, Toshi, Heath, Pata) got to it, they should re-record the song.

After all, X Japan has come back together and they've started to record music and perform again. Rose of Pain would be so worth the time invested---hell, almost any of their songs are worth a re-recording.

While I'm sure it would be, it just wouldn't be the same without our pink haired effeminent friend.

Definitely more like the former.

But yea, basically the two songs I'd recommend are Art of Life(if you don't like that, you prolly won't like anything by them as that pretty much covers it all) and I'll Kill You.

I'd more say Kurenai than I'll Kill You. The solo in it is awesome. But I definitely agree with Art of Life.

I'm not saying -if-. They actually have gotten back together, but they have about six or seven guitarists taking hide's place. They seriously need that many? Man, hide had some mad skills. XD

Noice. And yeah he did :) I have a concert DVD of them on the Dahlia tour. After listening to the songs on CD and going "Whao, that solo sounds awesome" and seeing him looking BORED playing some of their hardest stuff, I can imagine.

You know, this is what I thought for years until I finally heard Dragonforce's Through the fire and flames. That is the best Speed Metal Song EVER! Sure Art of Life is twice as longer and has a piano solo, but.... *shrug* too many uneasy pauses for my taste.

And to be completely honest Hide wasn't that amazing. Now that Yoshiki (drummer) is one talented. He actually holds to title "Greatest Drummer in Japan".

Oh, and yeah, they reunited and started recording. They got a new track in Saw IV. It was one hell of a song.

Maybe if they get some popularity they'll get a chance. They'd have to work something out with Exstasy (I think that's how you spell it) records though.

Great to know about that Saw IV song thanks a lot man.

However I'll have to disagree with you, I'd definitely have to say that Art of Life > TtFaF, but to each their own I guess.

You know that Yoshiki, the drummer of X Japan, is the founder and owner of Extasy Records, right? He founded the label to give the group's future a bit of solidarity.

X Japan is releasing I.V. (the single from Saw IV) through Extasy Records.

In other words, working something out with Extasy won't be too hard. XD

Yeah I know, started it after the band's indies career took off, got the money from his mother taking a loan or selling the family shop or something if I recall correctly.

He's also got some kind of relationship with Lion's Gate apparently. He's working on a musical (theatrical release) about organ repo men that's suppose to come out sometime next year I think (sorry my memory is very fuzzy right now).

Holy **** he is apart of Repo! The Genetic Opera!?

Thats awesome!

Edit: Just wiki'ed it. Yup, he is producing the sound track, composing a new track for it, and producing the movie itself. Yoshiki is my hero *tear*

Damn, is there any album by X Japan that is bad?

Does anyone know where one can get the song "I.V" from Saw IV? It's not on itTunes, it's not listed on the back of the official soundtrack, and I just have no idea where else I would find this song, considering it is all new. A bit off topic but whatever. =)

X Japan is planning to eventually release it as a single, but for the time being haven't yet. It might come here, but we just have to wait for that time. Just letting you know that it is coming. :)

I would have to say that either this or Jealousy are their finest albums. Conceptually, I think Jealousy wins out, but for sheer metal fury, Blue Blood wins hands down.

Blasphemy! You listen to Stab Me In the Back or Sadistic Desire and tell me he wasn't amazing! :)

I still remember when BLUE BLOOD came out back in the late 80s, actually stood in line in Seta***a when that thing came out. Too bad it was the last real hair metalized Visual album that was actually good before that whole genre got killed by 黒夢.

Wouldn't mind seeing the title track or Rose of Pain as, at least, European DLC. I've been reading that some Asian acts are pursuing options into this game.
