I need help with a Drum mod

I'm working on a mod for the bass pedal.

From what i understand that should work right? and for a wire can i just take a A/V cable and cut the tips off one end?

not sure what you are doing, but if you are looking to mod your bass peddle dont use that hookup. for starters you need a mono jack and the one you have pictured is stereo. second, you can buy one that the existing wire will plug into without having to cut off the end and wire in a RCA. I tried doing this and it works fine except for one flaw. you can not rest your feet on the bass peddles because if one is down, the other will not work. So while playing, you need to have your feet floating above the peddles or your ankles up till you actually need to hit.

Yeah that's what sux about doing that, i play foot down, don't know if i can switch now.
