Thx for the help with the previous guitar issue, I'm saving for a strat now.
What I want to do, is what is a good, (famous) song to learn to play on my kiddy acoustic I got when I first tried guitar, at 7... The idea is, is that if I can trust myself to learn to play one song on a acoustic I can trust myself to spend my £279 on a guitar and £20 on a pocket amp.
I can read tabs (read up how to, very simple... beats notes any day for me). My hand CAN move quick thx to some uberriffic Guitar Heroing (haha no point comparing the two), but just a famous song I'll probably know to play. Simple as possible pretty please... it doesn't have to be a whole song, maybe just the riff (I'm not accepting Smoke on the Water... keyboard players I know can play that on a guitar, but I want something simpler than Sweet Child O' Mine intro).
Thx for your help... you lot really are the TRUE Guitar Heros...

I started learning with Seven Nation Army, then with Paint It, Black, then Hardest Button To Button, and a slew of blink-182 songs.

Let's see
Iron Man
Smoke on the Water
99 Red balloons (Goldfinger)
Those are the best for an absolute beginner. 99 Red balloons might be a bit of a challenge, though.

Killing in the name is easy.. Learning it now but i probably could have months ago with EASE.
It's a good song for practice. Probably help you get better with tremelo picking, muting, playing multiple strings, and playing at a moderate speed. Try to pick this one up a few months after you start playing.(Learn Drop D tuning)
Iron Man is easy, cept the solo.
I Ran is a very easy song. And kinda fun, even with no delay. I usually just strum hard and strum lighter for like 8 strums to get the delay effect.
Crazy trains intro is easy.. will also help strengthen your pinky. When i started playing I would play that and throw in a bend on every note i used my pinky for, to help build strength.
Black Dog's riff is pretty fun and easy..
Godzillas main riff is easy.
Most nirvana songs arent very hard.
Made In Mexicos Yes We Can is a party hit, and easy to play. When I try to show off I play this bad boy.
